Is it possible for a cat to be infected with leukemia even though he was tested at about 6 months and was negative? He is 2 years old now....

Hmm I will do so on friday. He is going in for a dental....his teeth are horrible and ive been reading that sometimes leukemia causes gingivitis etc. I mean he's only 2 years old and his back teeth are brownish. They look rotten and his breath is foul. You can tell his little gums are swollen and the presence of blood is there

Poor little guy cant wait till friday already

I'd FeLV & FIV re-test, just to be sure. My Twitch had horrible teeth - they were removed at 2 years of age - she's FeLV & FIV - & has been tested multiple times.

Has your kitty been exposed to other cats since he had been tested? If so it is entirely possible that he has contracted FeLV
I also hope that he is negative

Hopefully it's just bad teeth and you and your vet can decide a proper treatment to get that under control. Bad teeth can make a cat very sick.
A quick question, if you have him retested for FeLV and FIV. Has he been vaccinated for FIV already? If so, ignore the positive on that.
