Ok, so here is my situation. I have a cat that is about 4 or 5 years old. He is a great cat, very friendly, never does anything wrong.

At night he started to go around to the doors when we are sleeping and bang on them for hours on end unless you let him in and then he just won't let you sleep.

So after a while of this we decided to put him in the room where his litter box, food, and water are for the night. It's not a small room at all, it is about the size of two bedrooms. So he has plenty of room to run around.

Now the problem is that around 5 or 6 am he will start meowing like crazy, and for hours until someone lets him out. Most of the time he gets let out around 7 or 8 when I get up for work. It is just quite annoying constantly being up for work an hour before I have to get up.

Any idea or suggestions as to why he is meowing so much? What would be a good way to stop this? I have no problem letting him run around the house at night, but he just won't stop waking everyone up when he is out.

Thanks for any advice.
