I'm sorry if this has been asked 100 times before but I couldn't find much when searching the forum, and I searched the net as well.
Is a good quality canned wet food for cats a complete diet or does it lack anything? I know that it is a myth that cats need the dry food to clean their teeth, but is the wet food lacking anything nutritionally that the dry food contains? some people have told me that I can feed just canned wet food if it is high quality, then I have also heard that wet food lacks in some things that dry food has, so I am totally confused. Right now I am trying to get my (recently adopted) obese cat's weight down - his old owner was feeding him a lower quality dry "diet" cat food, 3/4 cup a day, now I am trying to get him to eat a good quality wet food, but I am unsure if I should supplement with some dry food as well, I was thinking Orijen? He seems to be picky about the wet food as he is not used to it, but I don't want him eating the junky old diet food that the old owner gave me. Any advice? Thanks.
