Since Nat has a thread, I want one too

Jack, who is just 5 months. They were seniors who got a kitten and realised it is too much for them

Puska, who was found abandoned in a hydro (electricity) field, obviously owned because how many siamese do you find feral but was also neutered.

Then there was Lulu who got adopted but was found stray at 11 years old, a tiny thing who is so scared you have to sit and pet her while she eats or she hides

Skawkers (aptly named) has been with us since May. They just didn't want him, or his two siblings, anymore

Skiddish (don't get me started on the fact it should be Skittish, his owner named him that) came in with his sister when the owner just couldn't keep them anymore but couldn't tell us why

Bryce, my new love of the century, came in as a stray but eventually the finder admitted that he was her cat

Mitty has a mexican microchip. Her owners brought her here with them when they moved from Mexico. But then they moved and left her here, she was found by neighbours

more to come

This sweety lived in a home where they cared for her in all the right ways, fed her, vet care and regular check ups but she just wasn't loved.

This sweet girl was allowed to stray while declawed. When we found her we went through all the newspapers etc to see if someone was looking for a declawed tabby, advertised her and nothing

The old, I am having a baby routine

Your pictures make mine look terrible!

Some of these just make you want to kick people - are you seeing more with frostbite injuries? We have 3 right now - one with frostbitten paw pads, 2 with ears gone.

Not too many yet, usually we start finding them around Feb.

I think a lot of people leave garage doors etc open a crack for them around here. I remember one from last year, the woman thought she was a Scottish Fold because of her ears and fell in love with her so since the vet said there would be no lasting problems, we just let her think that.

Those are such beautiful kitties. Their stories make me sad. I want to take them all home! Thank you for volunteering. I don't think I could do it.

A State of Confusion
Aww, such beautiful kitties. Seeing pictures like these make me sad that no matter how many kitties I were to adopt, I just can't rescue every one of them.
I will; however, take care of my own 4 and do everything in my power to make sure they never end up in this situation.

I salute
you and everyone like you who goes in and volunteers with the kitties every day. On one hand I'd love to go and do that and help with all the shelter kitties, but on the other I think it would make me too sad.
I'd probably end up adopting 10 kitties my first week and get thrown out of my apartment.

I got off the train a stop early on my way home from work so I could go by and see him (I could just feel in my heart that he needed a hug) and meet Miley last night

Bryce will need lots of hugs this weekend because his buddy Stills (we had Crosby, Nash and Stills) was adopted as well as all the other cats in that room so he is all alone and actually prefers the company of another cat

Isn't that the truth. It would be so hard not say anything to these people. How can you hurt such precious babies?! I wish I could save them all.

Beautiful kitties - so many of them, how could anybody not love them. Just as with Nat's thread, I'm hope these babies find their loving furrever home soon. They are adorable

It feels wrong to single any of them out because they are all so lovely but.....Lulu, the poor little thing. I wish she could find the love and security that she needs. Mitty, she looks so much like Tippy

Omg, all those kitties are absolutely gorgeous, but this face oh
green eyes and a black nose and i think Charlie would fall in love with her

Really, some people don't deserve animals. How in the hell can you adopt something just because it's cute then decide to dump it because it's become an adult and not 'cute' anymore, or you are having a baby. A baby isn't a split second decision, you don't adopt a kitten if you aren't willing to give it a lifetime of love, and if you've looked after your cat well then your baby AND cat can get along

Some people make me SO mad!!!

Lulu went home!!!!
She has gone to live with a pilot who adores her. Hopefully she stays adopted this time. She was adopted but came back just days later because the other cat terrorised her and she was petrified and it just wasn't fair on an older cat

OH FABULOUS!
Way to go Lulu - I hope you and your pilot have many long and happy years together

Now, just to get the rest of those gorgeous kitties into the wonderful, loving homes that they deserve

I got 'happy tails' emailed to me for Lulu as well Lotus who nursed all those kittens in the summer with her sister so thought I would share:

Lulu
'The Little Lady' until named

and Lotus who is now Annie because she reminds them of Little Orphan Annie
