Does anyone know of any health issues related to oranges? One of my cats just loves oranges. As soon as I start to peel an orange he comes running from wherever he is (seemingly out of the woodwork...) I was giving him little pieces but then I started worrying about it possibly being bad for him if it was one of those bad foods for cats.

I've done some internet searching and haven't found anything about it being bad for cats but I have seen a lot of mentions about cats supposedly hating citrus
. Max definitely doesn't hate citrus (he loves it). Does anyone else know of a problem for cats from eating citrus? If not, does anyone else have a cat that wants to eat citrus?

I don't know if it's bad for them or not but it sure is interesting. Every cat I've ever had, when they smell oranges, scrunch up their noses, and turn away like this is the most disgusting thing they've ever smelled. It's the one thing I can eat in peace, right in front of them.

Both of my cats hate the smell of oranges too. If theyre sitting next to me when I start to peel one they both leave. As far as being bad for them I haven't heard anything. The only foods I have heard were dangerous for them to eat is chocolate, onion, and garlic. Most cats are lactose intolerant so cows milk can make them sick. I do give mine the occasional little bit of ice cream though.
