She's beautiful.

If you can touch her then she may come around fairly quickly. Do you have set time frame that you have to work with a cat and get it suitable for adoption or do you have as long as it takes?

She's beautiful! Lots of that you can renew (or find) her trust in people, and she will realize that she doesn't need to be scared and defensive and can let someone love her.

I still can't pick up Ophelia, and she's been with us for 9 years. I was able to once, but that was only to help her catch a moth. She was so distracted by the moth that she didn't care how she got up there to catch it, as long as she did! Daddy can pick her up, but he's the only one.

My guess would be at some point they would deem her unadoptable if she wasn't coming around, but the one I adopted was there for a year and I can think of ones we have had longer that just haven't been adopted despite being nicer than Miley, so pretty much as long as it takes.

I'd say she's definately a purebred bengal. No doubt in my mind, judging from the newer photo.

Poor girl, I wonder what her life has been like so far. Still she's lucky to have you to work with her now.

She looks like a purebred Bengal to me too! I thought she was from the first photo but the second pic confirmed my opinion.

Either way, I am not listing her as one as she has so many issues and whenever we list a cat as a purebred we have loads of people who come in just because they think they can get a purebred at a cheap price.

I am wondering if she came from the ones a local SPCA rescued from a BYB and rehomed a while back.

Maybe Nial has some ideas on what sort of things I can do to help her? She hates other cats, she will tolerate me touching her but swipes at others and screams as soon as she sees you.

Not listing her as purebred makes absolute sense because she's a special girl an will need a special home, not someone who thinks they can get a Bengal for cheap.

I'd PM Nial, I know he's helped out with rescues before and he really knows the Bengal breed.

It's quite likely she's from a BYB, considering her state, lots of BYB will just keep their cats locked in cages and have them breed and pay no attention to them so you end up with pretty feral cats from lack of human contact.

I had PMed Nial as well

I actually emailed to him before when the Bengals were rescued from the BYB but one of the SPCAs took them all in so ended up not needing his help then. They microchipped them all so it isn't one of theirs but that isn't to say she wasn't adopted out by the BYB or 'lost' before that.

Maybe it is the angle of the photo - where her head looks too big for her body.

Boy she's gorgeous! I hope you can help her!

She's a bengal alright! She is stunning and she looks about the right size - I love that last pic of her she looks nice and chunky.

Good luck taming her
