I'm so sorry you lost him so fast, Linny. I have tears in my eyes since your description sounds so similar to the relationship I shared with Nakita. I would describe them as our heart cats. Since they fill up our hearts so much, we feel like a part of our life is taken when they leave.

I agree, it is NOT fair. But, let not the final moments bury your memories, since there have been so many beautiful one's to remember him by.
Grieve, but remember the life you shared and all that was given during this time. Those are the lessons we receive when we open our hearts and share a life with these wonderful souls.

There is so much to mourn but also so much to celebrate since you both had such a wonderful relationship. If only everyone could have the same!

I have no words that even come close to telling you how sorry I am. I am sending lots of thoughts of love and comfort your way.

You are all amazing. Much as it kills me to come back and read everyones beautiful words, I feel we are surrounded by love I can`t bare to open the PM`s yet but thank you so much everyone, I`m so very grateful.

I`ve moved Kitty next to my bed, so we are close together for his last night here. I know it is just his shell and his spirit is free but I have to keep looking and touching him.

Last night he woke me up because he kept kicking me in the back

It`s going to be hard to let them take him away tomorrow but they seem like nice people.

My sister texted me earlier and said, 'They have given us so many gifts beyond possessions.'

I am so sorry, there are no words that can explain the pain nor take it away when you lose one so close. I had a cat I felt the same way about so I have been down this road. You may not be able to see him but he is there, and as you heal don't be surprised if you feel his presence. Allow yourself to grieve and heal. You had a wonderful time together and gave him a good life.

looking at the last photo of kitty i saw my beloved janet who i lost last october in very similar circumstances. the pain i feel for you now is a true reminder why we are so lucky to share parts of our lives with these incredible creatures.

it would not hurt if we didn't care and linny he was and will always be your best friend. my janet shows me time and time again he is with me and the dreams i have when i can smell him, see so clearly that beautiful face that is so like your kittys, is all the proof i need.

we are crying with you and holding you close in our hearts.

Oh Linny, I'm so sorry that Kitty has gone to the Bridge. When we lose our soul-mate kitties, their passing leaves such an incredible hole in our lives.

It's so difficult for me to come to the Bridge forum, because it always reopens my own wound of losing Spooky (my soul-mate.) I find it nearly impossible to believe it's been almost 9 years. Reading your tribute and feeling your pain, makes it all seem so raw again.

I will say a prayer for Kitty's sweet little soul, and a prayer for you to find some peace in this time of great saddness.

Tears are pouring down my face as I read through this thread...words seem like just words...I have none that are right, but I just wanted to let you know that I grieve your loss along with you.

He was a beautiful boy and will never be far from you, for you hold him close in your heart.
