my cat wont eat!

my cat hasnt eaten in 2 days. i tried giving her fresh food but she still refuses to eat. whats wrong with her?

Please take kitty to the vet asap. Not eating is a symptom of illness and cats can have serious problems due to not eating for only a few days.

thank you tam. i cant afford a vet trip but my parents can, so ill call them as soon as my dad is home from work.

A lot of problems can cause this. It can be as simple as a cold, which makes the cat not feel like eating. But it can also be sore teeth, or something stuck in the mouth or throat, or something stuck in the stomach, or constipation, or...

Well, you get the idea. Cats are too good at hiding illness until they are VERY sick.

I'm glad to know you have supportive parents! It's not always an emergency if a cat skips a meal once, but if it goes two days without food it is. Please let us know what you find out from the vet.

update: i got her to eat some tuna! i called the vet and she said to try the tuna. im now waiting to see if she'll eat her regular food. if she doesnt im calling the vet back.
