I'm not sure if I will be able to meet up with you guys or not. I'm going with two friends and it would be up to them if they wanted to go along too.
Sometimes we all go off in different directions at the showand then meet up for coffee or late lunch/early dinner. We'd love to meet you and your friends.

Snakes are so cool to touch! I love the feeling, not what you might expect at all (most people think "slimy"). I think they're beautiful.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I can get there this Sunday.
My DH has to work this weekend, and we share a car.

Aw Wendy, I'm sorry. Ah well, we have to get together to see Tracy and sweet baby girl so hopefully that will work out better for you.

Me too!
We are looking for another car, so hopefully won't be in this frustrating situation again. It's just too much for us to share one with the way our jobs are. DH was excited over a VW diesel he saw last night, and I thought of you Linda!

Oooh, what was it? Jetta? Passat? I love my little Jetta diesel. My BIL makes bio-fuel out of used French Fry oil so I sometimes use that in my Jetta. I've named her Leisl the diesel.

We went to NB this past summer - 1700+ km there and the same back (approximately 3400 km) on 3 fuel fill-ups plus another little bit. That includes the driving around while we were there. They are awesome and I honestly don't know why more people don't drive them, at least in Ontario. I realize the prairie winters would be a little more difficult and the car would have to be plugged in overnight, but we have no trouble starting our cars on our coldest mornings - well I should say John has no trouble with his Passat, while I have had some problems but John says it is the harness that is the problem and needs to be replaced.

WOW! How is that for going off-topic?

I just found this thread and usually I'd love to come but we're away all weekend (holiday weekend=family gatherings) but if anything gets planned for May or June around Southern Ontario, let me know

It would be so cool to get to meet some of you in person.

Yes, I remember his ogling my Jetta at the Cat Show. At my age that's about all that does get ogled by men - young or old.

It was a wonderful show and I got to meet up with Imunsie and her SO again.

I got my picture taken with Maggie, the little white dog in the Cesar's commercial and no, I will not post it here. Maggie is beautiful, me, well not so much!

I also got to hold a snake. The gentleman let me hold a ball python (a baby one or at least it seemed small compared to some of them). My daughter took a couple pictures and said, "Mom, try not to look so scared".
I actually wasn't scared and it was quite a nice experience to see one up so close and to hold it. It wrapped itself around my hand seeking some warmth as it was a bit cool in the building for them. One more phobia lessened for me.

Actually, I ended up going last minute on Saturday. I haven't been to the show in awhile, but the cat section seems so small! I'm not sure if it was my timing, but most of the cats were not available. Some were not there, some were sleeping in the back of the cages with no breeder around. Bad timing, so no cat pics! I saw one cat tree vendor, but wasn't impressed with price or selection. I really think this show is more geared for all the other animals (especially dogs).

I didn't spend much time there since I was going to lunch at a friend's place but did snap a few pics.

I was trying to snap a pic of Maggie, but got bumped in the back by some kid when I took this pic. Result, blurry!

Lots of birds!

Eeeek! The spider handler was placing this one on everyone's head. I told him no thanks, I just want a pic!

Another main attraction - especially when they brought it out of the tank.

A cute little guy just trying to get some sleep.

I think I ran around the show for about 20 minutes, but then had to leave. I sure got my workout, though.

I got some pictures. I spent probably 3 hours walking through it, lol. But I didn't get that many pictures, nor were they very good pictures. But I'll post some later when I am less lazy.

Unfortunately, no. The cat area was really slacking in cats, only a few were there, and the smell was so overpowering.

I mean, I worked with 250 cats everyday and that smell wasn't as bad as unneutered males.

Wow! When we were there between noon and 2:30 on Sunday, there were lots of cats and there was no smell at all. You must have had some bad timing.

There were about 8 rows of cats. My daughter fell in love with an Oriental and the lady let her hold the cat. The cat loved my daughter as well - it was purring and cuddled right in with her. She was a lovely gray beauty.

I went to this with my family on Sunday, it was a blast! I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t know if you guys saw this beautiful female Doberman. She was amazing! I noticed you can pet all of the animals and they all just sit there mechanically accepting it because thatâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s what they were used to. I crouched down to see this beauties face and she starting mauling me with love. She was leaning on me, trying to give me kisses, loving up the ear rubs. Next door was a toy store and she was trying to use me as a shield so her Mom couldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t catch her trying to shop lift. What an amazing dog.

I managed to buy my babies a bunch of toys, get a Bengal breeders card, have my boyfriend accept the fact that I NEED a Bengal (lol) are they really $1000? Sheesh.

Overall I had an amazing time, all the animals were so cute. I got 20$ in change and donated to every change donation can I could and played there little donation games.

It was a lot of fun!
