I'm looking ahead to next fall/winter already for a project

Here in Wisconsin we do not have the climate that supports of growth of any pine trees that grow the very large pine cones. These are 8-10" and larger.

If anyone has access to these I would gladly reimburse for picking and shipping costs to me.

I can come up with some of the names of the trees that grow these large cones if needed.

Feel free to pm me if you can help me out.

Thanks!

Just regular pinecones? I understand that you want a certain size, but I don't know if there are different types? I might be able to help you out, how many you wanting?

Over the river and through the woods...
When I was little my mom used to make pinecone wreaths to give as christmas presents and sell. We must have thrown out 8 bags of them from the attic when we cleaned out the house. I think I know what kind you mean, and we would gather them from the cemetery. They come from those HUGE (like 30ft) long needled pine trees? The cones are long, about 6-8" and skinny and smooth if you rub them one way? If those are the kind you need let me know. The trees are still in the cemetery and I can see if I can find any for you this weekend. We have a ton of pine trees around our house but most of their cones are squatty and fat.

How many do you need?

Do you have a picture of the type you want? There are so many different shapes and sizes.

Some names of the trees are: Coulter Pine, Sugar Pine.
Years ago when my sis lived in Atlanta we drove to Savannah and stopped at a State Park and picked cones laying on the ground-those had to be 12" long 4-5" wide?
I am looking for a couple of dozen for sure.

When I lived in Georgia near the Florida line, we had trees with huge pinecones. Our out of state relatives used to take them home by the bag full. I live in North Carolina now, but the pinecones in our area just aren't as big and pretty as the ones further South.
