Is there a way to ignore specific users so you don't see any posts by them ?

I know this feature is on alot of boards to help when certain people do not get along with others, you can block the user so you don't see any of her/his posts. I can't seem to find it here, which doesn't nessecarily mean its not here, just that I can't find it

thx.

Click on their name to go to their profile, then you will see two drop down menus: Send Message and User lists

Click on user lists and you can add them to your ignore list

I think their posts still show, but minimised so you have to click on them to read them.

Hope you aren't having problems with someone here

Oh and you can't ignore a mod or admin

Tried it, yup it still does show that they've posted, but its great that you don't have to see it.

Thx again for the quick response... it was needed and appreciated.

indeed. Hmmm, serious question tho, if you have users on your ignore lists, would you still see the threads they start?

Probally I would guess, based on how the ignoring feature seems to work.

Yup, you do. But then ignored posts aren't actually totally hidden. Just collapsed. In a list of threads each thread is already collapsed. I guess a thread started by someone we want to ignore can't be any more collapsed than that.

Maybe I should take a "How to be More Toleratant of Idiots" course.

Does the person know they are put on your "ignore list"?
Like when you add a friend (which I don't think I have any
) they are listed on your profile. Does it add ignore or send them some thing saying they are being ignored?
I don't think I have every really had a problem with some one from this site that I would ignore their posts, just a few of new people that are obvious trolls, and mabey one poster that seems to know (or done ) EVERYTHING, but other than that I don't think any one has ever gotten under my skin enough to ignore them in threads. Mabey I am not here enough or post enough in certain places?

No they don't but I would think they get an error message when trying to PM you

As for threads from people I would prefer to ignore, their name is on it in the forum list, I just don't click
