Congratulations on getting a kitten. Mine get fed wet food at 4:30 am, because I leave for work by 6:00. I leave out dry food (free feed) all day then when I come home I feed them wet food again right away about 6:30 pm. Good luck.

Thanks.
I'm lucky, my three cats do not pester me to get up and feed them at a certain time. If I want to sleep in an extra hour or so, they'll just "hang out" and wait patiently until I get up.

Mine don't get wet in the morning. I had to stop because Frankie kept waking me up progressibly earlier every day for food. So, they each get a 1/4 cup of dry in the morning (about 6 am) then a 1/4 can of dry when I or DH gets home from work (usually around 5-6 pm) then they get another 1/4 cup of dry before bed around 10 pm.

Harley won't start begging for breakfast unless someone's awake. Once she sees someone, party's over; the yowling/mewing/dancing spectacular begins! She usually harasses my hubby when he comes home from work in the morning (between 7 -7:30). He'll give her a small can (3oz) of wet food. She is a sneak, though, and she'll try to get me to feed her when I get up, too! She also gets about 1/2 cup of dry food per day total. I split it up 1/4 cup at a time. Sometimes she doesn't quite eat the second 1/4 cup, so I go with 1/8.

There are days when she sees my son come in my room to try to wake me up, and as soon as he walks out, she walks in and starts complaining that no one's fed her yet.

I would say whatever time you feed it is something you picked.
Cats are creatures of habit so make it a time that is good for you.
I feed canned and a little of dry before I leave for work at 8:20am.

Thanks.
I free feed so my kitty usually has food in the morning. If he has run out, I refill the bowl whenever I get up.

I give wet food once a day, usually in the evening.

Congrats on your new kitty.

I have dry food out 24/7. They also get a small 3oz can each per day, half in the morning around 7am and half when I get home in the evening around 5:30pm.

My boys are free fed dry so I top that up in the mornings whenever I get up if its low but it usually isnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t and they have that available all day. They each get a can of wet food in the evening just before bed. They donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t bother me for feeding unless they run completely out of dry, which is rare. I trained them not to beg for wet food by just not giving it to them if they bothered me or overreacted while I was trying to dish it out. I still give them their wet food at night to prevent any early morning wake up calls. I am NOT a morning person!

Thanks for the responses. I, too, am not looking forward to extra morning wake up calls. We're usually up by 6.15am M-F (leave about 7.05am). I'm not sure what time her current owner feeds her- on my list to ask.

Lucky sleeps with me, and no matter what time we go to bed, she wakes me up at 6:30 - 7 am... I now have the superscratcher on the bed, so she doesn't need to wake me up to play in the morning... She is so sweet though... It's great to wake up with kisses!

They start waking me around 9:30--they wake only me, not hubby. Harley lays behind my head on my pillow and Jack lays on my chest and gets right in my face. I love it........

Mine are fed around 4:15-4:30am when I leave for work, Farley stays in bed under the covers until I put the food out but the other 2 are up and playing.

On weekends we sleep in til around 6:30-7am, they don't bother me for food and often don't get fed until 8am on weekends.

My s/o wakes up around 7 and once his alarm goes off, it's Tofu's cue to begin. From 7 to about 8:30 she is on the bed, walking around, pawing at my pillow, and licking my face. Then I get up, feed her 1/3 cup of dry food, she eats about half of it then wanders away. Georgie still sleeps in her 'safe' room so she gets fed when once I'm up. I not sure how stubborn she's going to be once she's out at night.

Mine will start standing on my face to wake me up around 6am. I usually crawl out of bed, dump a can of wet food on a plate and crawl back in bed
