I have just had my last cat (Bris - 16 yo) put to sleep. Plus this is a remembrance for our other cats such as Cheeky & Meeshu etc we lost over the years. Very painful losses!

With the loss of my last cat, I don't know what to do now. I no longer have a cat for company. I live by myself. I'm not working at the moment (partly by choice, and partly due to stress related issues). Money is getting low, so I can't really afford to get another cat.

First, how can I deal with this recent loss? I'm trying to talk to some friends about this, and get out more and out in the fresh air by exercising (on a bicycle). Good idea?

Condolences on losing your kittycat. I am sorry that you are going through such hard times. I am sure that by getting out, you will be able to meet other kitties in need, who are in need of a hand-out, or just some real understanding human companionship. I am rarely "cat-less" even when I have a dry spell of not officially owning one.

maybe volunteering in a shelter would help to ease the hole your Bris has left in your

for Bris, &
for you.

I'm so sorry
I agree with Laureen about volunteering at a shelter, because that way you can help heal your heart with having love from so many cats and kittens awaiting homes

Thanks!

Depending on how things go this year, I hope to get at least one cat.

I was particularly close to Bris, so her passing is extremely upsetting!
Her passing reminded me of the passing of our (my) previous cats as well which only magnified the pain of loss!

In the meantime I seem to be settling down, just a bit. I've been riding a bicycle at a good pace to help relieve stress etc. So far it seems to be working.

I love my cats!
