Windows is simply automatically warning you. You might have your security turned up a little high.
I actually got it from my Yahoo homepage, from the link that Yahoo recommends.

I turned up the security, after that IE flaw thing occurred.

Would it be better to download it from your attached link, StrangeWings?

Well, Yahoo is a legit site/company so you should be safe using them as a source. IIRC, they do have a toolbar so you may wish to make sure that is not included in what you downloaded from the yahoo site - unless of course, you want a toolbar (I see no use for them myself).

If you want to redownload directly from the mozilla site, yes they are a safe source. This is also the site you will need to go to for your add-ons, themes, etc.

Well, I do have a Yahoo toolbar, which was basically set up so I could use my Yahoo email address when I want to send an email to a specific website.

I just tried downloading Firefox again from the link that you attached, and I didn't get that "invalid digital signature" thing again - although I did get the "warning" message. I clicked on the signature verification thing, and everything checked out okay - although there was a thing to click on that recommends saving the verification certificate to a file - which, of course, I really don't know which file I should save it to.
There were several options, but I don't recall what they were now, and I accidently shut the program down before I was able to run & save it.
So now I'm back to square one..

Does everything sound ligit enough to go ahead and try again? Is it necessary to save that verification certificate to a file??

First off I am "technology challenged" so I don't know technical stuff but, I work for a government agency and we have to have Firefox for some of our stuff. Also I have to have Firefox on my home computer in order to acess my work stuff from home so it must be okay.

Also, toolbars are notoriously bad for security flaws. I don't if they've gotten better, but certainly a few years ago, they were dangerous, and would cause all sort of nasty things to get put onto your computer.

Firefox is excellent, a lot safer then IE.

Toolbars are notorious for slowing things down a bit and fouling things up. For a while, I had toolbars occasionally... and I always got frustrated and took them back out...

Make Yahoo Mail your home page. Navigate to that page, don't log in yet. Go up to the top of the screen (I'm also on a Mac, so since you're using a PC, I remember it's under something different) and find Preferences, and in the General tab in preferences, there's a box with the URL of your current home page (whatever page appears when you first open Firefox). There should be a button near it saying 'make current page my home page' or something to that effect. Click on that. Now, whenever you open Firefox, you go straight to your Yahoo Mail page.

Now, maybe you knew all of this... I'm just putting it out there... just in case.

And I love Firefox better... even my dad uses it now. He also uses Thunderbird, their email client program (like Outlook, but more secure).

But let's just get you going with Firefox first.

Or you could simply click on the little symbol/icon (shows up as a blue star for me on that page, it will be probably be different for everyone else) right next to the address and drag it to the left - to the home button. It should ask if you want to make that your home page, say yes.

Well, I've had the toolbars since day one, and as far as I know, they haven't caused any problems.
But what do I know?

I already do have Yahoo set up as my homepage. But thanks for the input.

I installed the Firefox last week, but haven't really used it much. I still have too many questions that I'm concerned with - some of which I posted in another thread.

Mission already accomplished.
