I needed to get a voucher to get tinker Spayed. I got it so it's going to only cost 30 bucks. good deal!

Man, I had a hard time leaving. They've got about 70 cats there in three separate rooms. All big rooms. Smell VERY clean. they have these people beds all over the place. with sheets and pillows. just like you'd have for a kid. bunk beds. but instead of the foot of the bed, they have another folded back sheet and a pillow. So there are two heads to each bed. How great is that? the cats have ALL SORTS of places to sit and sleep. They have 4 big cat trees and some hanging things on the walls the cats can climb into.

3 rooms. divided by need. kittens, just above kittens and full grown cats. I spent a LOT of time in each one playing with all of them. they're good too, you have to wash your hands, AND use germx when going into any room.

The cats are super SUPER laid back. I mean I was shocked at how happy they are. it's not like i expected at all. They had two cats I want badly
A mynx and a ragdoll. they were so pretty.

there was also about 5 fat cats. which i love. i love petting those fat boys for some reason. hehe.

I petted them as long as I could but finally had to leave. Man those cats have it good there.

They even have a full time vet there.

yeah manx. sorry.

You know news2much i was the same way, i've said it here too. but I'd never been to a place like this. I was thinking of the animal shelter where the animals are all caged and sad. This place had the exact opposite vibe to it. The cats were all laid back and seemed very happy. there were lots of people mingling around, it was nice and clean, bright and up beat. they were a lot happier than some cats I've seen in homes. Seriously. There are no cages for the general cats. they all sleep wherever they plop down. there is WAY more beds, pillows and cat beds than cats in there.

I know some were sad, or lonely but the environment was just awesome.

Since I can't do the fostering, I picked up a form there and I'm going to offer my time to help them there at the building. I loved it there.

I am also going to take the kittens there tomorrow. because i can't take this stuff with tinker moving the kittens and waking them up all the time. I'm going to take them there i think. they have a surrogate mom that could take them, and there's an older woman there that told me all she does is take in bottle babies and raise them till they're adoptable. She would keep the kittens right there on site and then home with her if nobody was going to be at the shelter. but they have people there 24/7. even on christmas.

This might be the best thing for everyone since Tinker isn't nursing or mthering them

That sounds like a fabulous solution... and it they are willing to help, great! Take it! And volunteer as a pay back.

To bad Tinker is a bad mom.
My Coco was a very good mom and she was going to be a foster mom to a few kittens but the mom started nursing them.
Meeko just had one kitten and she was a bad mom.
I had to hold her so he could nurse because she would not nurse him.
Coco would try but she would take him away from her.
Meeko did end up nursing him but cut him off at 8 weeks.
Coco nursed him also.
When Meeko stopped him he went to Coco.
Its to bad you have to let someone else take over.
That sounds like a nice place.
The pound here is very dirty and has alot of illness.
We did adopt a dog and she lived 15 years from the pound where we used to live.
It was so hard picking one.
That is the sad part.
Seeing them all come to the front of the cages.
I want to help out at a rescue though.
We did save alot of ferals years ago and I kept 3 of them.

Oh Fatsnoc - this sounds like a great solution!!! I would love to volunteer in a place like this... I can't volunteer at a shelter - too much of a soft hart for it... I wish I could though. Let us know how it goes with the kittens!

That shelter sounds amazing! When we get our spare room going, I'm going to do that to the bed, LOL!
