New to the forum, looking for a little advice.
Too make a long story short, I was having a friend cat-sit for me and one of their neighbors male tom-cat got into their apartment and was caught mating with my young, indoor, unspayed female. Needless to say I am angry and upset. This was about 2-3 weeks ago(they just told me today, thanks). Not sure yet if she's pregnant, but I am concerned about anything she might have contracted from the male. I doubt he's had shots since he is not fixed, and I have no idea what he could have picked up roaming around and mating with the strays in the neighborhood. Should I take her to the vet for an exam? What diseases could she have contracted that I need to be aware of? Can they tell if she's pregnant?
Thanks for any help and advice.
