Starting at 5pm I can begin registering online for the '09 Winter term at school. I'm cutting back to three classes, four is too much with working full time. I know I'm going to be taking World History 3 and College/Intermediate Algebra. I think I may take an online course. I'm strongly leaning towards Intro to American Government 1, which I should be fine with taking online.

I can't wait to get this term over with, it's taking forever with all of the holidays and the winter break.

Ah, the good old days of actually having to step foot on campus to register. Long lines and hoping (esp. if an undergrad) that the class/time you desperately want is still open.

Even when I went to university we had to go on campus to register.

I never had a problem getting into the classes I wanted to do, they were all smaller more specialised classes

A State of Confusion
I think the stress of registration has gone way down with the online stuff. Parking is a royal pain at my Uni., so I'm always happy when I can avoid setting foot on campus. We start registering a lot earlier though. I think our Spring semester registration opened October 1st. I am in a very small field though, so there's never any rush to register. We've got online classes too, so my sincere hope is that I don't have to set foot on campus all semester.

I think it's great that you can register online now and not have to wait in line for hours (I started college in 1987...yeah, no internet). But, I do have to say I met my best college friend while waiting in line for those hours and we were inseperable. Sometimes I think we're getting away from personal relations too much. I agree, it's much easier and less stressful, but we all had a BALL talking and getting to know each other while the lines were moving a foot every 15 minutes so by they time you actually got to class there were already a few familiar faces.

Okay, I was able to register for two of the three classes. For some reason the system is saying that I haven't met my prerequisites for World History 3. Ummm...they are both developmental classes in reading and writing that I don't have to take. If I needed them I wouldn't have been able to take World History 1 or 2, Sociology 1 or Microeconomics. I emailed my advisor but won't hear anything until Monday.

I'm guessing there is some kind of technical glitch because I dropped the government class and decided to close out my English credits by taking Comp 3. IF I had reading/writing prerequisites to meet for any class it wouldn't have let me register for english comp 3.

I even sent in my original application that way (though it is only a technical college, and they pretty much accept anyone). I'm going to have to reapply when its time, since we've been out for more than 3 semesters now.
