So my classes start Wed. of this coming week (the 7th) but I am worried about something. As some know I am working on getting my top teeth taken out and I have only four left to go then I can get a plate (dentures). I won't be getting those last four out until the 9th of this month. And it will probably be Feb. before I can get a plate put in. I have had no issues talking with people I know since I had these teeth out because well they have known me for a long time. They knew how bad my teeth were and how much I really wanted to get this done.
What I do worry about is how I will be perceived in my college classes because of not having a plate. Will I be looked down on, will people think I am disgusting, will people not want to talk to me or get to know me because of this. *I mean reality is I know I am there to get an education and I worked how to get here, and making friends are on the bottom of my list of things to do in college. But I don't want to be outcast because of this.
Any advice or words of wisdom for me. Thanks..
