I have 2 cats- one is somewhere between 1-2 yrs old and the other is 10 months. I have been feeding them primarily wet food (wellness and nutro to save $$) and usually would give them 1/4 cup of Wellness dry kitten food that they would share- mostly in case the kitten would get hungry between their 2 wet food meals but really my older cat would nibble on it. Both prefer wet food to dry.

Over the holidays I ran out of the dry food and haven't made it to the pet store for more so I just have been feeding them 3 wet meals per day. They seem to be doing fine.

Should i just keep feeding 100% wet or buy more dry? Is 10 months too young to go 100% wet??

The Kitten is about 9.75 lbs and the adult cat is 10. Adult will eat 6 oz per day, kitten will eat maybe 9 or10 oz/day total. When I was giving them dry they were eating a little less than that.

I know wet is better but do you think the kitten needs to have that dry food around so I'm free feeding essentially-- or is it ok to do 3 scheduled feedings at 10 months of age. Do most people free feed until they are 1yr old?

many do ... but if you increase the kittens portions and split up into 3 meals then I say it could work... many also go to two meals at 6 months
