When You're On the Computer....

How many of your cats follow you into the computer room?

Winchester always follows me in there, and usually is laying somewhere on the entertainment center. He tries stealing my chair as soon as I get up to use the bathroom or something, so I'll have to chase him back off when I come back.

Geronimo is always "guarding" the doorway, so the others can't get near HIS meowmy. Sometimes he'll try laying underneath the desk, but I usually end up having to chase him off b/c he starts messing with the cables & cords. If I'd let him, he'd be sitting right in front of the monitor. Heaven forbid if I'm not giving all my attention to him!

Salem usually sits in the window if it's open, or on the cat carrier which is next to it if it's not.

Jinxy doesn't have a specific spot, although she's always trying to sit on my lap or in front of the monitor.

Chiquita & Ricochet always lay just outside the doorway.

Maverick, Gabriel, Spencer, & Cassidy usually will follow me in there, but mostly to just see what's going on. They generally don't stay.

Tinker and wilbur go about their business for awhile, then they'll decide i've had enough computer time. That's when wilbur will jump up to the desk, and sit in front of the monitor staring at it, blocking me from it.

Tinker jumps up on the desk adn paces in front of the keyboard arching her back. Both then eventually lay down on the blanket i put next to the monitor and all is well again.

Zoey walks across my keyboard and jumps off the desk. Then jumps back on the the desk and stands on the keys again. I usually play fetch with her when I'm on the computer to keep her entertained. She will jump on the desk and drop the toy on the keyboard. There have been many of my posts that I start and just never finish.

it varies. there's often one [Pixel, Chip or Cable] on my lap/chest when i'm using my laptop. the others wander in & out, as it suits them. last night, all 5 were in here - Pixel on my chest, Chip next to me on the leopard pad, snuggling w/Firefox, Cable next in the large cat bed, & Java on the cat pillow that sits on the recumbent bike when i'm not using the bike.
right now, Chip is playing w/the turbo scratcher & Cable's just sitting on the floor. don't know where the other 3 are...

I have two kitties and my puppy Macie at my feet . When I cook they all move to the kitchen. They pretty much follow me where ever I go.

Mine follow me everywhere as well, but i use the laptop in the livingroom so they stay here in their bed

Butzie will periodically wander over to me when I am on the computer. Sometimes she just wants to love and be petted and she will bunt me. Other times, she comes in and puts her paws and my leg and meows loudly. She has been known to jump up on the keyboard for attention.

That's so funny! Geronimo just loves to play fetch too, and sometimes I'll have to split my computer time between him & the keyboard, just to appease him. I'll usually carry his fetchball around in my pocket so I have it handy, and when he's in the mood, he'll jump on my lap and dig it out.

Mine usually sleep near me while I'm on the laptop, or they sleep in their beds

Both of my cats are always in the same room as I am unless I have the window open in the winter and it's "cold" for them. In that case they are either in the living room or bedroom, depending on the room with the window open

It doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing, all the cats move about the house with me.

Sometimes I feel like I'm wading through an escort and sometimes they do it all sly like; one minute I'm alone, the next, I glance up and five cats are arranged nonchalantly around the room.

I usually have at least one cat squeezed in behind me on the computer chair. This is what happens when I walk away for just a minute.

well, that's true here, as well. i usually have a minimum of 1 escort to the bathroom - sometimes all 5 make an appearance.
& the 'wading' thing - today, i accidently semi-kicked Firefox - she ran right in front of me just as i was taking a step! really just kinda pushed her with my leg, but more forcefully than i would've liked.
she ran under the bed & hid for the longest time... poor baby!

That's funny! (Oops! What happened to the pic?! )

I haven't taken a pic of Winchester or Geronimo "stealing" my chair yet, but I reckon I probably will eventually.

Here's Geronimo & Jinxy in front of the monitor. Please excuse the photo quality: the pix are printed out then scanned & uploaded ones. It takes too long to upload the digital camera ones.

Neither would I, so it's probably a good thing I don't have one. The computer gives me enough headaches.

I did manage to find a pic of Geronimo trying to get on my lap, that I took myself with the digital camera. It took some manuevering, but I managed. There's also the original pic of him in front of the monitor. I remembered I posted them in another thread. Too bad I didn't think of that before. All I had to do was copy & paste them. Anyway....

The picture was an attachment rather than a link. I think the attachments don't carry over into a reply.

Nora almost always follows us to our computer room (really in our spare bedroom, but we never have guests so we put the computers up here). It is rare she doesn't, and usually then she is fast asleep on our bed and doesn't notice. Normally she'll RUN as fast as she can to get up here as we walk up the stairs.

She either sits on my lap, under my hubby's desk by his feet, or on our 3rd chair that is specifically for cat use. LOL It even had a step stool under it for Milo to get up in it. LOL

Here are a couple pics of her running up the stairs after me (and a blurry pic of my son).

Topaz is almost always on the other chair. Ari is my ADD kitty and he can be everywhere then decides it time for a head butt and some lovin' Usually when I am trying to type or play a timed game.

And there are the times I have to surf one handed...

Or get that "Are you still on that thing? look...

I love these pictures!

In our home, 3 of them have to be with me all the time. Sylvestra wanders around my feet, while Felixia and Mr. Underfoot both want to be on my lap (which frequently leads to some conflict, as Mr. is a lot bigger than Felixia and she doesn't appreciate it when he lays on top of her).

I keep the office door closed because the cats are only allowed to come in while I'm there. As soon as Miss Patchwillow sees me headed that way she runs down the hall and waits by the door for me to open it. If I'm going to a different room she still sits by the office door.

LOL That's funny.

Nora only really goes in there when we are. She prefers to be where we are, even if it means waking from a wonderful sleep. Sometimes I try to sneak out (there really isn't anything for her to damage in there, the wires are all hidden) so she can keep sleeping but she always hears me and follows me down to the living room/bedroom/kitchen, where ever I'm going.

Chip & Cable do that to Pixel, sometimes - she doesn't care for it, either!

I have a laptop cart that I roll around the apartment and use where its convenient (instead of a computer ‘room’). If I am in the living room in a chair then one of the boys is usually on my lap or the back of the chair leaning against my shoulder and the other one is on the cart next to the computer. When I take it in the bedroom, they both lay on the bed around me and try to get me to stop using the computer to snuggle with them.
