for Kitty - maybe it's not as bad as it seems...

He is one of my favorite TCS kitties even though I only know him through pictures (there's just something about his little curmudgeon face
)

Please don't blame yourself, they are so good at hiding their pain.
and more that he doesn't suffer.

*KITTY UPDATE*

Linny will be along later to tell us the full details because she was going to rest with Maisie, but she text me this afternoon to say she had to leave Kitty at the centre so they could do all the tests on him.

Because it's a public holiday the full staff aren't around so the tests will take longer than usual. They want to keep him in until they can make a full diagnosis, plus he may need intensive care and oxygen.

One good thing is that Linny said the vet there was lovely and Kitty did something that he's never done at the vets, and that's purred

Linny sent me the link to the centre where Kitty is being treated and it looks and sounds excellent!!.

Thanks everyone and thanks Susan for posting for me
I couldn`t get to sleep in the end.

I didn`t realise I`d have to leave him there
God, I`m thick sometimes.
So, the vet took a very thorough history. Kitty threw a tantrum in his carrier while this was going on. He meowed for the whole journey there, then she got him out to change the pad when we got there because he`d had a wee. Then he was put back in with a clean pad.

OMG, he had the biggest tantrum
His meows were getting more and more annoyed and then he sat there taking mouthfulls of the pad and ripping them off and spitting them out
That seemed to get rid of his frustration because she got him out again and he layed down on her notes and started purring!

So, she said they would repeat the x-rays and do a ct scan and utrasound of his abdomen and a fine needle biopsy.

I`ve just had a phone call from the night vet though. He said Kitty is doing well and seems pretty much normal in himself but they repeated the x-rays and there is a mass in his chest

They want to take a closer look and do ct scan and maybe put an endoscope down his throat as well and he said they may not be able to do all this and the bloods until tuesday when they have full staff back and they can catch up with the lab work

The other thing is that the mass is very close to his heart and he said it looks like it is near or around his aorta and main vessels. This should show better on the ct. He said they would need to take a sample to make a firm dianosis of the mass but non surgical route would be very risky as if they are a bit off they could damadge the lungs or hit the aorta and he would bleed to death.

I wish he didn`t have to stay there so long. It`s not like I can just go and visit him.

They all meet at 9am there and discuss their cases so he said he will ring me again after that.

I keep hearing little noises and thinking it`s him, then I remember he`s not here

Thanks for the support everyone:
If Kitty knew everyone was thinking of him I`m sure he`d want me to pass on lots of
and

At the kitty's beck and call
Aww Linny, I didn't know that Kitty wasn't well until I saw his photos in Fur Pics. I'm so sorry that they found a mass and that he has to be away at the referral centre so long. But...you are doing the right thing by taking him there, even if it is difficult.

Sending loads of hugs and vibes your way for you and Kitty. For Maisie as well, I bet she's missing him

Don't worry, you had so much on your mind so it's only natural you weren't thinking straight

They sound like their being very thorough with him Linny, so that's good.

I really hope it's nothing though

How far away is this place to you?

I am so sorry to hear what is happening, I hope they are wrong and it is something that can be helped. I have been where you are with my sweet Tabitha so I know how hard it is and how stressful .

KITTY UPDATE

Linny's still at work and she'll be on later, but she's text with an update

The hospitals just rang this morning, and Kitty will be going down in the next hour for his ct scan. They may also put a camera down his windpipe to see if its the same thing or something different.

They will be ringing her later to see about the needle biopsy because that could be risky, and Linny wants to know what the scan shows before she decides if they should do it.

They said the other way would be major surgery, but Linny has said she doesn't want to put Kitty through that.

Linny, hang in there sweetie, we know you must be shattered, infact i know she is because she said she was up until 2.a.m taking down christmas decorations

More healthy coming for Kitty
