It is the YUM! Luckily I have a BIL that is quite the hunter. His father lives in Montana and all he does is hunt now that he's retired. My BIL goes there several times a year and his Dad also comes here quite often loaded with elk, antelope, and venison. Nice for us as my DH is not a hunter. It's very lean and very tasty. I actually prefer wild game over beef.

I ended up having a burger!

Tonight I'm going to oven bake some fish with garlic and herb crumb and I might sautee some mushrooms and onions in olive oil and maybe make a coleslaw to go with it. I had a similar dish for lunch last week and it was too good to be true!

Sliced ham and warmed up scallopped potatoes here. I may roast some little beets, if I get my act together in time. Otherwise, there are lots of good salad makings in the house... From the same meal, the leftover dessert isn't the apple pie I thought I was going to do -- too much oven traffic in too little time, so I put a berry crumble in the microwave instead, and there's another helping each of that for tonight.

To go with our fish I'm making a chocolate mousse. If anyone would like the recipe - let me know!
I'm serving it with peaches and chopped nuts.

Tonight we had BLT wraps.

I diced up the tomatoes, cut up the bacon and mixed them together with some mayo.... shredded some lettuce to throw on top of the mixture, then wrap em up.... YUMMMMMMY.

That does sound yummy! I love BLT -- it's such a satisfying combination!

For us tonight, I'm thinking Butter Chicken with Pappadums and a veg. I have to pick up milk on the way home, so if I see green beans that look worth the bother, I may do Gujerati Green Beans -- otherwise, I'll just see what's in the fridge.

Well, it's early, but I'm thinking probably ham patties, warmed up scalloped potatoes (yes, there are more -- it was a larger batch than we needed) and roasted beets.

I love beets. How do you do your roasted beets?

Me, too. When I'm roasting, I usually do mixed roots, like this...

...but I want just beets right now, so I'll just leave the other guys out
and since the beets I have are quite small, I may leave them whole, and just let them take as long as they take.

What do you do with beets -- roasted or otherwise?
