Basically it's sausages baked in Yorkshire Pudding. You serve it with gravy and a veg. Some people would include potatoes, too, but I think one starch is sufficient, especially such a yummy one.

Toad in the hole is a piece of bread with a round hole cut out and an egg fried in the middle!

I've got work in a few hours so I am going to have a late lunch of a Potato top mince pie and will probably just have some fruit before work.

I never knew it was called that. I eat that once in a while - yum!

It's serve yourself tonight so I may just have cereal or waffles. I am not sure yet.
I had a grilled cheese sandwich with bolonga and cucumber chips with barbecued kettle chips for lunch so it's okay to eat something not so good tonight.

I'm excited for both lunch AND dinner today!

My friend & I are going out for lunch - we might go to a nice little pub and Kieran & I are going out for tea tonight - no ideas on that one yet.

Panko-crusted, oven-fried codfish, grilled zucchini and baked potato. Coffee and cookies for dessert. The fish turned out great. Mom loved it!

I'm lazy tonight, so I went to Figaros and brought home take-n-bake lasagna.
My friend is the manager there, when I went in I told her I was tired so she was making dinner tonight.
It's pretty good, though I always add a little garlic salt and shredded parmesan. Will have some Texas Toast with that, also.

McDonalds! I was locked out of the house after work and then Jon was locked out of his car! I had to wait on the porch for an hour and a half! (Cats were happy though) We wanted to be lazy after that start to the evening!

I have some asparagus in the fridge that's calling out for some salmon and hollandaise to go with it. Nugget potatoes to accompany, I think. There's a bottle of not expensive, but very nice, Argentinian Chardonnay (Finca Los Primos -- the Malbec is excellent, too) in the fridge waiting to join it. May do a berry crisp for dessert, or failing that there's always Gelato Spazzacamino, which we haven't had for a few weeks, and is such a nice no-fuss dessert. It's just me and my sweetie tonight -- the kids are off to Thailand for a month.

Oooh, I love hollandaise with asparagus. Sometimes if I don't want all the fuss of making the hollandaise I just melt some butter and add some lemon juice to it and drizzle it over the asparagus. Sounds like a nice supper. I'd love the dessert recipe.

With pleasure. This (the "spazz", as we call it) is a great thing to have up your sleeve, but you'll have to surrender a scoop or two of your Haagen Daas.

per serving:
Pretty dish
Generous scoop of excellent vanilla ice cream
1 tablespoon scotch
1/2 teaspoon finely ground coffee

Assemble in that order, serve with delicate bikkies or chocolate sticks.

The berry crisp will have to wait until later. I don't have quantities on top of my head.

I've been known to do the lemon butter thing for asparagus, too. Most of the time, in fact, but I just have a yen for hollandaise with it tonight. I used to find hollandaise a bit of a production, too, until I found a microwave recipe that is virtually foolproof, not fussy, and takes maybe ten minutes to do from opening the fridge door to finished product. I'll share that, too, if it interests you.

ETA:

Berry "Crisp"

3 c berries, fresh or frozen
2 T lemon juice
2/3 c brown sugar (I prefer demerara)
1/2 c flour
2/3 c rolled oats
1/3 c soft butter
3/4 t cinnamon
1/4 t allspice
1/4 t salt

Place berries in 8x8 inch glass dish. Sprinkle lemon juice over. Mix remaining ingredients, sprinkle over berries. Microwave at High for 7-11 minutes (depends on oven and whether berries are fresh or frozen), until juices bubble up through topping. Let stand 15 mins before serving.

Serve hot or room temp w cream, whipped cream, ice cream or yogurt.

It doesn't really crisp in the microwave, but it's still nice. I've only ever done it in the microwave, but I'd say 30 mins or so at ~400 F in the regular oven.

It's blueberries tonight and it's on the counter being aromatic at the moment. In a few minutes I'll go up and do the rest of dinner.
