Last night was Thai Pork and veg in Garlic Black Bean sauce with Jasmine Rice. Tonight, sausages with panfried mashed potatoes and garlic carrots.

Tonight, DD is coming to our house right after work and making shrimp in a garlic, wine and cream sauce with Jasmine rice. Probably have asparagus as a veggie. It's not one of my favourite dishes but both DD and DH love it and I don't have to cook it so it's all good.

That sounds yummy! I'll eat yours, if you like.
Nice to have a night off, eh, Mum?

Fast dinner tonight. Probably omelettes, although I wasn't thinking and did egg salad for lunches, so I'm trying to think of something else fast that does not involve eggs. We'll see.

Ugh. I can't think of anything. And I think I'm going to be working way late. Everyone in the house is sick - one kid with wisdom teeth, the other with such a sore throat she can't swallow...Maybe eggs would be good for us too!

That sounds like a household that needs some tomato soup: equal quantities of medium white sauce and canned tomatoes broken up small, seasoned with sugar, pepper, dry mustard and whatever herbs you like with tomato. That's what Rob asks for when he can't cope with food.

Me, I'm enjoying my egg salad, but no wiser as to what's for dinner if I don't do omelettes.

Mmmm...that tomato soup sounds good. I took my daughter soup to school two days in a row because she can't eat anything but refuses to stay home.

I had crumbed beef schnitzel for tea last night with a lettuce, tomato and red capsicum salad on the side!

I'm working until 1AM tonight so I'll probably cook some up when I get home!

Mmmmm! I love venison! We are getting low in the freezer, time to visit the BIL. He always sends us home with venison and antelope and elk!

Tonight I'm making a meat sauce to go over our cheese and roasted garlic tortellini. I would prefer a pesto sauce but DH *needs* his meat.

Also some Texas Toast with that.

I just had lemon pepper crumbed fish with roaster potatoes and a simple salad for lunch!

Not sure yet what's for tea tonight. I may have a wrap.

Yesterday, I did one of our favourite "nice" meals, but with a slight twist. We love what has been dubbed in our house "Yosemite Chicken", better known here perhaps by it's "Cooking with Cattitude II" name "Mika's Cheesy Chicken Breasts". We had a dinner guest who has dairy sensitivities, so mostly I avoid anything with cheese when he's here, but I know feta is OK, as long as it is GOAT feta, so I decided to substitute for the parmesan in the original. It's different, to be sure, but it definitely works. So, to anyone who might have avoided it because of the cheese, you might want to see if that's an option for you. Awesome bird.

With it, we had Jasmine Rice and Asparagus, and Pecan Pie for dessert. A definite "YES".

Tonight Rob was lamenting that he "should be taking [me] out to dinner", but having had a fairly busy afternoon, neither of us is really into going out again. So we're ordering in Vietnamese. That's our dining out at home treat.
