It's Friday. There will be three people at the table we haven't eaten with for a while. Looking forward to that, and planning to serve baked ham, scallopped potatoes, harvard beets and whatever green veg looks nice when I shop. I'll also pick up some apples and they will become dessert -- a crisp? pie? maple poached? or an old family favourite I haven't done for eons: apple batter -- hmmm, quite possibly that's the answer.
It's a soup kind of day here so that's what I am making, a nice pot of chicken vegetable soup, with bowtie pasta in it...I am however going to some friends for dinner so I will be taking it along with me as a soup course.
