I always wonder what is the meaning behind people's choice of usernames and since we have lots of new folks I thought I would start a thread to ask that very question!!

so, why did you choose your username/what does it mean?

Mine is pretty simple: It's my name, Katie, my made up middle name, Mae (I don't actually have a middle name
) and my birthdate, 12/77

I am a bit of a mythology buff and my username comes from the Celtic god Tierre or Norse god Tyre, they are basically served the same function as gods of logic and common sense.
I am a huge believer in both of those things so it seemed a perfect name.
I use the same username everywhere on the web and since most site need a numerical representation as well that is where the 0 comes in.

Very simple---my first name and the year I graduated from high school, met my husband, and got married.

On the west side of... of... somewhere.
Mine comes from one of Jack's nicknames. From the beginning, his habit of getting in the middle of the hallway and flopping over on to his back for belly rubs earned him the nickname of Rubslut. Granted, I had no idea it would be considered mildly offensive... when people know why I call him Rubslut, they usually get it. I've pondered changing it here, but can't without starting over... as far as I know. So it sticks.

Jack isn't one for mild little belly rubs, either. I can get in there and do aggressive scritches messing up his fur, and he just lays there and takes it all in!

Gemlady - my niece came up with this for my email and refers to my rock and gem knowledge.

Ms. Freya is one of the ways I address Freya when I'm talking to her. She was chattering at me and I was chattering back while I created my username, so it seemed appropriate.

Oh, mine is sooo original--I'm named after one of my cats, Margaret Ann!
Took me ages to think that username up, huh???

(Marge is named after my Mother-In-Law; she shares the same middle name, Ann, as I do.)

Awww. I always assumed your name was about belly rubs. I didn't ever think anything else!

Mine is because I love Calicos and always wanted to have one. I have 4 torties, but there's something about the patches and the white belly that make me melt. The 2222 first started as 222 but for some reason a few years ago I couldn't log on with that so I threw in another "2" and rejoined. (computer issues I think, not that I was banded...at least I hope not!). 222 is just a number that keeps popping up in my life so it fit.

I was in a huge hurry with an overdue pregnant cat when I signed up and put down the first thing I could think of: my first initial and last name. Kim Luchetta = kluchetta.
