To begin, this is an adapted feral cat. Though she usually sleeps with me and is at times affectionate, I cannot perform a manual inspection. I can't even apply flea medication or take her to the vet unless she is very ill.
She's been spayed, she showed no sign of heat, yet she shows these signs of pregnancy: enlarged breasts, very wide across the middle, increased affection, nesting, a period of very heavy eating.
Then she began eating sporadically, as though there wasn't room for both kittens and food. She ceased nesting. I got kitten chow to increase her caloric intake. It's been months, I noticed symptoms about the beginning of September. She remains very large in the manner of being pregnant, not in the manner of being fat, and still has enlarged breasts. But she eats normally. I wondered whether cats somehow delay birth during winter. Now I wonder whether she's actually pregnant.
Any thoughts?
