Power Outage! Grrrrrr!!!

This goes along with Tierre's thread about the freaky weather. We got that nasty wind storm, too, and more than 300,000 people in SE Michigan lost power including ME!

I had no intention of sitting in a dark, freezing cold house with no heat, lights or phones! So here I am at the Residence Inn with my mom and boyfriend. They had ONE two bedroom suite left so I grabbed it.

It's supposed to be 25 F and windy overnight. Brrrrrrr!!!

One nice thing - one of our neighbors with a gas stove boiled water for us so we could have French press coffee this morning (power went out around 5 am EST.)

Our power was out when I first woke up, came back on only to go out again when the weather (helped by an idiot) downed a hydro (electricity) pole and took 3 hours for them to fix it. It has been 'blipping' off for a minute or so at a time all day so I really hope we dont lose power again.

Hope the power is restored for you soon and you dont have to spend too much time at the hotel

I just checked DTE Energy's web site... 2000 outages in my neighborhood alone... and no... the power is not back on yet. Some estimates say Thursday for everyone to get the elect. back!!! Eeesh! I hope not!
