Hello,
I need so information on black and green olives. Are they poisonous to my cat? He has eaten a lot of them today and he has just started to vomit in the last four hours. He has never vomited before and he seems to be very quite tonight. I can tell he isn't feeling well at all.

The salt in the olives (preserve in brine) is also not good for your cat, but again, not toxic. You probably wouldn't feel very good, either, if you'd eaten a comparable amount of olives for your size.

Thank you I was getting worried. He is a VERY special kitty to us. He entered our home at a special time. We had to put our 12 year old Lab down and he was my savior

It may just be the heavy salt intake, especially if he lapped up any of the brine on the green olives.

He should be ok, but keep an eye on him. Stimpy got into a bowl of black olives I put out for dinner one night.
He didn't get sick but he managed to chomp almost every one in the bowl.
At least I had a few before he did that.
