hi guys,

my cat really likes to eat plants...all plants! i used to get cat grass for her but it always dies so fast. i was wondering if chia is ok for cats. i thought that i could get a chia pet for her and then keep getting the seeds at the bulk store close to where i live. i know that chia plants don't live very long either but the seeds are much easier for me to come by than wheat grass. i know that chia is good for people, so i was thinking it should be good for cats too!

thanks

edit: sorry for the stupid title! i pushed a button (it is my husband's laptop and not one i am used to!) and it highlighted the title and then replaced it with a "!" and then magically posted my thread! sorry!

mindy

thank you

i looked it up online and i could not find a single list that said chia was bad for cats. the problem with the chia grass is that it is the same as cat grass (wheat grass) and i can't find the seeds as easily as i can find the chia seeds.

and thank you for fixing my title!

I have a post in Members Marketplace section that gives the link to my eBay auction listing for cat grass seeds. I sell a mix of oat and wheat grass seeds that my cats just love, and I sell it for a less than it costs to get at pet stores.

I actually use the Cat Chia Grass pot (with Tweety & Sylvester) to grow the grass seeds at home for my cats, as it has a nice heavy base and doesn't tip over. But I use my own potting soil and cat grass seeds in it.
