Anyone use a paraffin wax bath (hands or feet, etc.)?

I bought one on sale today. I have had this done at a salon, and it does work nicely. My question: it comes with 4 blocks of white paraffin wax, which I suspect is the same as food-grade paraffin wax; you know, like the Gulf Wax blocks you can buy in the canning section of the grocery store. Can the Gulf Wax-type blocks be used for refills? Where do you get your refills? (The manufacturer want us to buy theirs at a horrible price, plus mega shipping costs!). I did check for the "real" stuff on eBay, but wonder if there is a cheaper alternative to the scented stuff they have. Thanks!

Wax in itself is not moisturizing. The most it will do is stick to your skin and when you remove it, will peel off the dead skin, and probably any hair that is in the area.

I imagine that the wax that comes with the kit has other ingredients in it other than pure wax. Such as some type of moisturizer so that it can be easily removed.

Absolutely do NOT use Gulf wax. The paraffin bath wax is a mixture of paraffin and mineral oil, which is the moisturizing agent. Paraffin baths are nice and comforting. Just be sure to never use the wax if it is over 120 degrees!
