I'm trying to make a cheesecake and I made the crust from scratch. It says if you pre-bake the crust more than 7 minutes it will get hard....but I have to bake the cheesecake for 40 minutes...?
Should I prebake the crust or should I make the whole cheesecake and bake it all at once? help! Thanks.

I prebake my crust, then bake the cheesecake. My recipe says to bake the crust for 8-10 min, cool at room temp for 5 min then put in the refigreator for 5 min or untill cool.

Pre-baking the crust by itself is different than when it is baking with the cheesecake filling in it. The filling helps to keep the crust moist and it will not overbake or get hard during the 40 minutes.

Thank you both, that was very helpful. I never made a cheesecake before, and I need this one to be perfect, since it's a vegan cheesecake I'm trying out on my family. LOL
Thanks again!!!!
