Kizzy is now eating wet food pretty good.

I was wondering if there was a recommendation for how much wet and how much dry I should feed?

Kizzy is seeming to enjoy the wet food more than the dry food.

Does it really matter which makes up the majority of his diet? I'd say he's probally eating half dry and half wet.

Snake_Lady......this would all depend on the age and size of the cat
Many cats prefer one over the other. 1/2 can (5.5 once) of wet plus dry per day should work for the average kitty IMHO
Bigger kitties would require more
My Ragdolls recieve one can of wet food (between them) in the evening and I just free feed with the dry. None of my 6 cats are fat.

To answer your question, no it does not matter if your cat eats mostly wet. If anything, it is healthier to feed all wet. The only reason some of us feed dry at all is because it is more convenient to leave it out if we have to be away for any length of time and cannot be home for meal times.

Thanks for the input. I do go away from time to time, so I definately don't want Kizzy ONLY eating wet.

Which I guess brings up another question: how long can you leave wet food out for?

thx and Merry Ho Ho

Some will say all day or all night ... IMHO about 1 hour as bacteria multiple every 20 minutes... oh and according to all the cats I have had crusty food is icky... YMMV
