It Doesn't Pay To Try And "Outsmart" A Cat!

I have a drawer that I use to "hide" the cats "special" toys to keep safe so they can't lose them or ruin them. Today Chiquita figured out how to pull the drawer open, and haul all the toys out.
I kept putting them back in, but it was like trying to keep the rain off of you w/o an umbrella. For awhile, I thought she'd leave well enough alone after chasing her off several times, but as soon as I turned my back and came into the computer room, off she was again to haul them back out. Not only did she steal all the stuff back, she also taught the others her sneaky little secret, and before I knew it, they were ALL rolling around on the floor with the stuff, and looking at me as if I were stupid for trying to stop them. You'd think I'd learn by now that it's almost impossible to outsmart them when they want their way about something.

I moved the stuff to a different (hopefully safe) place, but I'm probably wasting my time. She'll probably sniff out the new location, and I'll be wearing my dunce cap again before too long.

Hiding from my SS!
They are very resourceful when they REALLY want something!

I did the same thing with my boys - hid the toys and favorite treats in a drawer and they figured out how to open it. So I moved them to a drawer in the closet and they figured out how to get in there (and open the drawer). Now the "special" stuff is in a drawer in the closet with one of those "child proof" latches WAAAY up high so they can't work on figuring that out too!

Silly kitties!

I put my cat's toys in a cardboard box that closes. Sunny tried to get in for a while when he found out
, but its kitty proof (Hopefully).

Putting the toys somewhere else didn't stop Chiquita in the least. She hasn't figured out where the new hiding place is just yet, but she's still pulling open the drawer and taking other things out now.
I found some plastic forks & spoons that I keep from fast-food restaurants for using on long car trips laying all over the floor, and a few other items that I keep in that drawer, too (it's what I call my all-purpose "junk drawer"). There are 2 drawers above the junk drawer, and one below it, and now she's pulling ALL the drawers open to see what goodies she can grab!

Silly kitties!

But you can't help but love them!

A box would be the last place I would attempt to hide anything from a cat!
