We got about 12 inches(30 centimeters) of snow last night, and its the last day of the semester today so everyone who hasn't left yet to go home for break is leaving today.

Well I did my good deed for the day. I was out dusting off my truck(I got it back just in time for 2 major storms) and getting it out of the parking lot so the plow can come though and I decided that I was going to be a good sumeritan today and help people out. I help push out someone's car, all the way out of the lot because we would get him free and then like 5 feet later he would be stuck again...

I also helped shovel out 2 other cars in one of the student lots on campus because the plows suck around here and didn't even come close to where the cars were parked(probably safety related if you think about it). One of the guys I helped out was from a town right by my home town and he was shocked when I came over and helped dig him out. The other person was a girl and she was very happy to have the help.

It feels good to help others and if my back and shins weren't killing me(the snow was up to my knees) I would be out there doing more. We need to invent a shovel you don't need to bend over to use...that would be great...or a heat ray that we could just melt the snow with, that way we don't have to keep moving it from stall to stall.

At times like this I envy the Icelanders who run geothermal pipes under the streets to keep the snow cleared.

I also envy those in warmer climates.

At the kitty's beck and call
Good for you, helping out the others there
I hope that everybody gets home ok for Christmas.

There is one thing about the snow though - at least it's prettier than the rain. I see enough of that to make me wish I had waterproof skin

Over the river and through the woods...
Awww, that was so sweet of you to help everyone! That reminds me of when I was growing up...20 years ago, Maryland would get some MAJOR snow storms, and all the men in the neighborhood would get together and dig each other out. I think they actually looked forward to it, because it usually ended up with beers being passed around by something that thought to stock up before the storm!

I'm the same way, I love snow...as long as I don't have to go anywhere! I still get excited when we're supposed to have a storm as long as I have stocked up on the essentials...bread, milk, chocolate!
Oh, and DH, of course!

That sounds like a great plan! *goes off to write letters to representatives and senators* We do have a skyway system in the downtown where I work, so at least I can get off the bus and walk the 8 blocks to my job indoors. It's just the rest of the commute that bites.

That really is so nice of you. Who knows, maybe you have started some sort of kindness chain reaction where the people you helped will help others too
