My mom heard someone peeing in the bathroom and was surprised because she was home alone, when she went to investigate Sophia was peeing in the toilet. We have caught her peeing in the bathroom again since the first time yesterday. Has this happened to anyone else? She is such an awesome kitty!

My male Devon Rex pees in the toilet...almost exact circumstances too...sounded like someone using the bathroom but it's after midnight, hubby in another country, kids in bed....low and belold, my boy is squatting over the bowl and peeing. He does this once a day at least. It is so funny to see!!!

I don't dare leave the lid up. I don't know if any of the kitties would pee in the toilet but Miss Patchwillow would be certain to fall in. She hasn't figured out yet that falling in the toilet = getting a bath. And she really hates baths.

I never leave the bathroom door open because I heard stories about cats getting their head trapped in the toilet.

Utopia, I honestly think that's how my boy learned, was from watching me. I am the only one who leaves the door unlatched when I am in there...they all sit outside the door and cry so I just leave it a hair open. And it's funny too if that's how he learned, because I don't pee standing up (I'm a woman) and wow, he just learned that squatting on the toilet and using it was correct?? And trust me, he's not the brightest cat on the block LOL

wow that is soo cool!!! I wish my cats would do that...

all mine do is drop their toy mice into the toilet and look at me with a questioning look as to why they aren't swirling around!

hiding in the bathtub
I wish mine would do that

I leave the lid down though so they don't drink out of it, since I worry about the cleaning chemicals.

I think the toilet water is too low for it to drink safely anyway.

My Siamese Susie would do that if the door to her litter box got accidentally closed.

They are smart little creatures for sure.

To be honest I don't think I would like my cat to pee in the toilet.

I think I would find that nasty.

My mom had a similar thing happen; her daughter's cat Lucifer was using the toilet, and it scared her half to death, because it "sounded like a man, but there were no men in the house". XD
