Do cats in heat bleed?

Keller has finally come out of heat. She likes to sleep up on the baby's changing table because she can look out the window. I was cleaning it today and found several watery/rust colored spots. I checked her bed and found a few more. It's nothing drastic, just a few spots so I wondered if that was from her being in heat?

I have never seen a cat in heat have any blood ever.
They do get a clear discharge though.

No. Cats do not bleed.

She will probably come back into heat in a few days. Just a headsup...

ahhhh poopy, we are finally getting some sleep! I will call the vet tomorrow.
I need to check her feet, she had a sore that could have broken open now that I think of it.

You need to find out where the blood is coming from, it could be something really serious. Look and make sure its the paw before you close up shop for the night.

She does have a very small raw spot on the one heel, I am pretty sure that is where it came from. I will watch her though.

lol I thought so too because I know female dogs do..apparently not...My Jake is a boy so I wouldn't know..

Females cats do not bleed in it and its nothing like a period.
i can explain it all but it would be a long post.

"In heat" is different than "having a period."

The uterine lining is not shed in cats the way it is shed in people.
