My bf was taking out the trash and just as the door opened my 1/2 feral (I say 1/2 feral because we took her in about a year ago and have been working with her) ran outside.
We have moved to a new apt. complex so she doesn't know the area, but there's a shed out back where lots of ferals live that the maintanence men feed. I'm wondering if she would show up there, but she has never liked any other cats since being with me.

I told him I dont think she's going to come back since she still has a little feral in her. I need your opinions as this is the first feral I've owned; she's an only cat because she really has never gotten along with any others I have taken care of.

Thank you.

Stand outside your door in the middle of the night and softly call her name. (You can do this at 9 or 10 if you think your neighbors' may call the police!). But if its quiet, she'll hear her name and your voice and increase the chances she'll come home. I'd also make sure the maintenance men have a photo or description of her.

Also go out in the dark with a flashlight and shine it into the bushes, under cars, under steps, etc. Usually an escapee won't go too far.

I posted here a few months back w a similar situation. Took in a pregnant feral, (no where near where she was living outside), had her in about 10 days, and she jumped out the window. (At the time, I thought she was domesticating nicely...) Long story short, I called for her and put food out for her days. A week later we found her crossing the road in front of us (she probably knew the sound of our truck). She did not eat the whole week, was probably hiding and too scared to come out. Just keep putting food out for your cat, she will know your scent, and keep looking for her, let as many people around know as well, so if they spot her they can let you know. Sometimes they get so scared, and hide until they can move again, so if you do not see her right away don't give up! Just keep looking!!
