We went to the SPCA this afternoon to drop off a bag of Felidae that the cats didn't like. This is what we brought home with us.

His name is Pooh Bear, and he is a 6 yr old purebreed neutered male Ragdoll. His owner's husband is stationed over in Iraq, and the owner is pregnant and moved back with her mother. She couldn't keep this handsome darling. We were more than happy to add him to the Pride.

Beautiful, now "Mom of 12 Cats"! Do you think they'll let you change your name to "Mom of ? Cats"? How about some details (gender, age, name, etc,)?

How beautifull! Good thing you bought that brush! Is she/he a boy or girl? If going to the shelter to drop off some of Binks food she rejects too. Wish me luck. Must resist the kitty! ....cant....stop.....must give hug!

Pooh Bear is a boy, neutered. He unfortunately is front declawed

He is a complete sweetheart! The other cats are sniffing him, Jules already wants to be friends. He is healthy and up to date on all shots. The SPCA says he is a Chocolate Point Ragdoll, and they told us he is purebred. He has the most gorgeous blue eyes!

Tamara, this weekend is the SPCA's "Adoptathon". I don't know how much willpower it would take to resist that!

Pooh Bear (not sure if we are keeping that name for him or not) weighs an astonishing 20 lbs, but according to the breed standard that is the high end of the accepted weight, so he is not overweight.

Movin' on up!
NOW HEAR THIS - STAY AWAY FROM ANIMAL SHELTERS. THEY PUMP SOMETHING THROUGH THE VENTILATION SYSTEM, THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO TAKE ALL OF THE KITTIES HOME. IT IS A NEFARIOUS PLOT HATCHED BY THE ALIEN CATS, TO ENSLAVE THE HUMAN POPULATION OF EARTH!

He's exploring the house right now. We took him to the basement and showed him where the boxes are, and now he has a whole house to check out!

Why does all this sound so familiar? I haven't been "allowed" to go to the SPCA without supervision (penalty: divorce!) since the early years of our marriage when we ended up having five dogs weighing between 50 and 135 lbs., and a Siamese cat that thought he was a Great Pyrenees! Hubby grew up in a pet-free household, poor thing, and had trouble coping. I suspect that he's so fond of JC because JC won't tolerate any competition! Good luck to you and Pooh Bear!

The last time I went to the SPCA (for a voucher for Mocha's spay), I walked into the kitty room with my SIL and promptly apologised to the room at large... "I'm sorry you guys, but I cannot play with any of you. I already have 2 cats in a small apartment, and cannot have more!" I cooed at them, but I was good, and did not open a single door! I wish I had time to volunteer there, but can't...

Pooh is a gorgeous boy, and NOT just because he looks like my Mocha's brother...

Another picture of Pooh Bear, who is hiding gods-know-where right now. His coat is a mess, I went to Petco and bought a rake and a mat breaker, he's gonna need some work. Poor guy!
