President-elect Obama says he plans to use all three of his names when he takes the oath of office in January, giving voice to a name that was used heard during the campaign except by critics.

In his first post-election newspaper interview, with reporters from the Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times, Obama was asked: “Do you anticipate being sworn in as Barack Obama or Barack Hussein Obama?"
So, does this mean all the fuss over people using Barack's middle name can stop now?

I would hope so - who was making it anyway?

I don't think it is a problem Using it necessarily it is why people were using it in some cases that was a problem. Im sure you know very well why some people were making it a point to use it. I would imagine that most presidents are sworn in by their full name it doesn't mean we refer to them with the full name on a regular basis. So again I think it is the intention behind someone using it that is a problem.

Yeah. That.

Really... who the cares? Some people like to make a point of using it to conjure up some imaginary link between Obama and "the terrorists"... turns out that didn't work so well. Guess people are smarter than they seem.

Personally, I'm not too fond of my middle name, but they called it at my college graduation.

I'm the same way. I think it's because whenever my mother was mad at me when I was a kid she'd call me by BOTH names.

I actually like mine, but I only use it in formal situations. It's not who I am -- it's who my mother was.

That, too!

It's not what you say, it's how you say it.

Sometimes we are required to initial something and generally speaking people will use their first, middle and last name initials to do so. The press also likes to shorten our presidents names to their initials also [i.e. FDR, JFK, LBJ, GWB]. I would hope and pray that Barack does use his full name and 3 full initials...................otherwise, he would be known as BO!

Don't laugh, my father didn't have a middle name and his two initials were BS. My sisters, brother & I would love to tease him endlessly about that!

Whenever my oldest son is in trouble, I use just his middle name.. I'll say "Christofer!!!" and he knows what it means
