Please, we are all very concerned about your kitty.... Please do the responsible thing, and if he is still alive (Is he?), call fro help... Call anybody you can - there are so many options... You can call a friend, ASPCA, a rescue group... Please, do not torture your kitty by not doing anything... He trusts and depends on you - you are his parent - do the right thing.

I've tried calling for help two times today, but each time my parents don't let me. They say that since we've had my cat for so long, and since we've spent so much money on him, we're not just going to toss him away (their words, not mine) They said that if he's going to die, he should do it here, not somewhere else.

I want to try while they're asleep tonight, but by then I think it'll be too late in the day.

On a lighter note, my cat is acting much more energetic than he has the past few days. I still haven't seen him go poo, which is very worrying, (in fact, he' still goes and sits in the litter box for a while, does nothing, then leaves and licks his butthole like there's still something wrong) but he hasn't vomited today (that I can see, anyway) and he's gone back to being as pleasantly noisy as ever.

Maybe he was just constipated? Can something like that heal itself naturally after a few days?

When I was a kid I begged my dad to let me go to the vet.
He kept saying now and I got him to say yes but the cat died 30 minutes before we could go.
I am still mad at him after all these years.
Frisky died from being blocked after one day.
My dad did not know he was that sick.
He was my first cat.
Dont let your cat die if its not to late.
He will die with no vet.

Can you sneak out of your house with your cat, and go to the neighbors? Take the phone number with you, and call from somewhere else. Please, do something... Not everything our parents say is the right thing, and sometime we need to be strong and do what is right, regardless of what they want/think.
You will never forget yourself or your parents if you lose your kitty. And they way you are losing him is not humane at all... The poor thing is being tortured... Please, do whatever you can - save this poor animal!

I hate to say this but I will say it. If your parents are of the mindset that your cat is old and they don't believe in proper vet care (even when cat shows obvious symptoms of distress), then truly - your cat would be better off in another home. Ownership of a pet is not a free, endeavor. Pets, particularly as they age, develop health issues -- and if those issues are ignored, that poor pet will suffer miserably. Cats are notorious for hiding their pain.........so by the time you notice they're in distress, they're in a LOT OF DISTRESS.

Are you not able to leave the house and make the call to the ASPCA or a rescue group from there? - if it's the case that your parents are preventing you from using the phone? Surely you must have some friends you could say you're going to visit, or go to the neighbor's house or something.

Yes, your cat could be extremely constipated..........and untreated constipation leads to a life-threatening and horribly painful bowel obstruction. If the cat is constipated or plugged up with furballs, it's going to take proper intervention to deal with this. The fact that your cat has thrown up, along with the inability to poop yet licking at bottom could very well signify a very constipated cat. But we are not Vets here, sites like this aren't a free substitute for proper Vet care that a pet is obligated to receive. It would be dangerous for us to advise you on how to "treat" this, as we're not qualified to diagnose your cat.

I'm sorry but I find it amazing that you would have advised your parents about the ability for a FREE vet visit but they still refused, and they will not even let you call someone............and you're simply unable to find a way to leave your house and make a call. I feel very very sorry for your cat and I will pray that somehow your cat manages to find a new home, before it dies a painful death.

To withhold Vet care from an ill pet is animal abuse.

DO you want us to call ASPCA?
send us a PM with your address and we will call them for you - they will take care of your kitty. Anyone of us would be happy to do it... You might not be able to call, but if you are able to type these messages, you are able to do something to save your cat. You said he was your only friend- wouldn't you do anything to save your only friend? I know I would...

Excellent idea/suggestion carolinalima.............if sonson is at least able to communicate here on the computer, that would solve to apparent problem of being unable to use the telephone.

I agree as well......Sonson, please Private Message someone on this thread and let someone help your cat, and your peace of mind.
The memories of your cat suffering like he is will haunt you forever if you don't do ALL that you can do to help him.

Just give your address, city and state...the rest will take care of itself. I know you can do it.

Especially because he does - If you click on his name, you can send him a PM. I am now starting to think this whole story was not real... It is hard for me to come to this conclusion, but it sounds too much like "the princess is locked up in a tower with her sick cat, and evil stepmother won't call the vet" kind of deal... SonSon was given every single option - then he disappeared after we took the last excuse from him; which was for us to call...
I always think the best of people, but this time I have a feeling sonson might be a troll.
Sonson, I am so sorry if I am misjudging you; but I am not sorry if I am correct...

It may also be that he/she is young and scared off by us. And yes, it could be a troll... Did someone try PMing this person? Can the administrator track him down?

Funny you say that....I have been thinking the same thing....no solution seemed to work for someone who was so worried and concerned....s/he is able to use a computer...heck...s/he could email the SPCA to get them out to the house to save the kitty....if indeed there is a kitty to be saved!

Well...what goes around, comes around. If this is a hoax...then the person will be deserving of one and should be ashamed. If it isn't a hoax, I feel sorry for the kitty.

We've done what we can do to help.....

So was I. This thread was absolutely riveting from the beginning. But it started to sound a bit out there toward the end. Sonson, are you out there somewhere laughing at all of us caring, soft-hearted cat lovers? If not, be fair and let us know what happened with this cat.
