I didn't really have anything. I haven't really been hungry since our black lab passed away on Sunday.
I just nibbled on some candy cane kisses and doritos. I had frosted mini wheats, too so I guess that was my dinner.
We went to taco bell today and that was good for brunch.

I am having fish for dinner tonight. Haddock with a nice butter sauce, some seasoned rice and green beans. I thought it was a good idea to eat a little lightly for the next few days in hopes of not gaining that 5lbs of Christmas weight I generally end up putting on over the holidays.

Dinner was on a cruise tonight and it was poached salmon, turkey and stuffing, garlic potatoes, asparagus and carrots.

Dessert was christmas pudding, pavlova, fruit salad, custard and cream!

And yes I tried everything

Since I'm back to work and can afford to buy meat again, I picked up a roast chicken at the Safeway deli yesterday.

Tonight for dinner I paired it up with a Greek salad. I'm going to have some fruit cocktail with some homemade whipped "cream" for dessert. I use ice cold skim milk, add some Splenda a bit of vanilla and whip it with my hand blender. Tastes just like whipped cream. I can have the remainder of it on top of some decaf later. Kind of a fake cappuccino.

We have aborted the staff Christmas dinner, with regret, since the Boy's back is on the fritz and he's not very comfortable. So I'm on my way to the freezer to pull out a pork tenderloin -- always my ace up the sleeve, when I want a nice dinner at short notice. I'll see about treatment, when I get upstairs and assess available accompaniments, but likely the House treatment with mushrooms, cream and brandy; some veg or other and either Jasmine rice or buttered noodles. For dessert, probably Gelato Spazzacamino, accompanied by some lovely chocolate. A nice quiet dinner for two. 'Twill be fine.

We always keep pork tenderloin on hand, too; it often goes on sale, BOGO, so we stock up. I rub it with olive oil, sprinkle rosemary and freshly-ground pepper on it, smear spicy mustard on the thing, then cut slits in it, and insert peeled olive cloves, and bake it. When done, I de-glaze the pan with hard cider, and make a cream gravy.

Your "house treatmwnt" ssounds even better!

Well, yours sounds quite wonderful, too. And I've just cleaned up from dinner, and did it as I was expecting to. It works. And yes, I stock up, either at my favourite grocer on BOGO offers, or at Costco on trays of four that work out to the same sort of price. Either way, I wouldn't be without it -- there are so many lovely things to do with it.

Spiral sliced hams were on sale this week and my mother picked one up for me to cook for all of us. I did that last night with macaroni and cheese and a salad.

This morning we had ham & cheese omelets.
Aaron needs a break form ham and has mentioned going to the local Mexican restaurant today, so we will probably go there for a late lunch.

Guess it's left-overs for me tonight. I am thinking a toasted chicken sandwich with mayo, lettuce and tomato, and a bowl of tomato soup. Hmmmm tomato soup...
