What a total MORON. And he was "brazen" about it.
Chicago politics at its' finest. LOL What a joke
I hope they burn this guy.

Was it the previous governor who got in trouble for selling CDLs? Must be something in the air.
And Patrick Fitzgerald will jump all over this. He's a very good non-partisan prosecutor.

Actually, Chicago politics has cleaned up a lot over the years.

4 of the last 7 IL governors have been indicted.

Must be something in the water.

Oh yeah, it really sounds like Chicago/Illinois politics is cleaning up its' act.

Perhaps when Illinois gets smart enough to elect some Pubs (the same goes for MI and LA)
their political machine will "clean up" its' act. LOL

At the very least, he should have been arrested for that awful toupee!

You gotta love Chicago's political machine.

Actually, having grown up there, it has cleaned up a lot. There was a time that a "right of passage" for a child was for their parents to teach them how to bribe a cop or an inspector. I'm old enough to have gone thru that.

It starts like this (father to daughter): Honey, your old enough to be able to start driving soon. If you ever get pulled over by a cop, you need to know the following........

I live in the Chicago suburbs and this, unfortunately, is business as usual around here. What makes it so unbelievable is that Blago knew he was being watched and still "allegedly" extorted money. How arrogant and stupid can you be?

Maybe they should just have an auction and auction off Barack's senate seat to the highest bidder with the proceeds to go to, Barack's new "redistribute the wealth" program.

Oh, right. Illinois had such great luck with its former Republican governor, George Ryan.

Corruption in Chicago politics is a non-partisan way of doing business. Before the election I saw a Chicago reporter on one of the newschannels talking about the real estate deal that Resko had with Obama. He said that it was so bad that they should put a portrait in the room they use for public meetings. A portrait of George Washington with his hand out.

There is no way that is his real hair. Even the Donald's hair, as awful as it is, is real.

It's just been a bad day for politicians; or to be a politician

Larry Craig lost his appeal on withdrawing his guilty plea.

No kidding!

Richard Daily doesn't allow this type of behavior in Chicago limits. Some of the people that got out of there and went downstate to Springfield sometimes get out of hand like this guy. You have to realize that you can't relate Chicago to the rest of the state (called downstate by Chicagoans). Its like New York City versus New York state, or like Las Vegas then the rest of Nevada.

There's speculation that Rom Emanual is the one that blew the whistle on him. If so, good for him!

Meh, what do you expect from a politician? I would be willing to wager that 99% of them have done at least one thing during their careers that should have them in prison.

You are right, that guy is cool, I just heard him on TV, he was great.
He said the Gov of Illinois has set a record for hitting the "all time low" and that Abraham Lincoln is turning over in his grave. I was cracking up.

I see the Gov and Barack have been pretty good buddies, why does that not surprise me? Another bad guy to add to Barack's long list of bad guy buddies. What a joke.

That said, I don't believe Barack is involved in this travesty, I heard the tape where the Gov is calling Barack some pretty colorful names. Maybe Barack didn't give the Gov the kick back the Gov thought he deserved.

I refuse to believe that that's his real hair!
If it is, then his hairdresser should be arrested too!

Are you kidding me? The "Daley" name has corruption all over it.

There is some guy on Hannity and Colmes from the University of Illinois right now. He said since 1970, 1,000 Illinois politicians have been arrested for corruption. HOLY COW
He said Illinois is the most politically corrupt state, by far, in the Union.
How humiliating.

And now we have a President Elect that has been part and parcel of the Illinios political machine. Oh joy

That is his opinion that Illinois is the most corrupt state. Depends on the criterion. Not that Illinios has a good track record. This site http://www.corporatecrimereporter.com/corrupt100807.htm has it ranked Louisiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama and Ohio then Illinios. Then I saw another poll that had it Louisianna, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Illinios. But I don't think that these states are any worse than any other. Just a little more blatant and they get caught. Out of sheer stupidity most of the time. And as far as I am concerned there is blantant favoritism in politics. Just some politician are smarter about brokering favors and do not cross the line into illegality. But they dance quite close.

I am not sure I am getting the connection so far about the President Elect being part of the corruption. Far as I can tell the Govenor said "F" him about Obama because all he would give is appreciation. Doesn't sound like Obama was playing along. Maybe there is something more but to link or infer Obama as corrupt or part of a corrupt machine is making a mountain out of an anthill. Now more information may come to light but as of now.

When Ryan gets out of prison, he'll be lucky not to be charged in that, too.

Ryan is a Republican. Illinois corruption is an equal-opportunity industry.

Daley is the Mayor of Illinois. Nothing happens here without his approval.

Serious question here as I really don't know the answer. Would all the political corruption in Illinois fall under the stats on Corporate Crime?
