I've got the balloon a few times. Listen out for a whooshing kind of sound - you'll see a shadow on the ground as well. I always see it in the same place, so I'm not sure if that's pure coincidence or if that's where it always is.
lol, I don't think it occured to me to water the flowers XD I guess that explains some of the brownish/blackish flowers I've seen <.<

When you talk to the guard dog and ask him what's new, he should tell me if she's still there right? He just tells me that he hasn't seen anyone come or go.
I couldn't find the momma yesterday at all either... I was on about the time you posted this and had my gates open till about 2pm my time... then I got back on about 6pm my time and had them open for a few more hours!
