that you win the SuperBowl pool!!! Then you could play with me. We wouldn't have been able to get our Wii without the MAJOR coupon/discount we got... After everything got the Wii and the WiiFit for $68 out of our pocket... Birthday, discounts, coupons, and great deal really added up and I am loving it!

I know have about 5 apple trees growing strong, and 1 fully grown coconut tree and 2 or 3 coconut trees growing. Does anyone know how long it takes a tree to sprout fruit again once you knock it down? I was really scared to knock my fruit down, fearing it wouldn't come back, but I did do it to one of my apple trees and it worked, though not sure if the fruit came back on that one yet or not! Hard to tell. Wish there was a way to mark trees.

OH YEAH!! I also was able to buy an axe, so if anyone is going to be on tonight, I can travel to your town to knock down a tree for the January Fortune, and then maybe someone can come to mine and use my axe to do one here. I won't be on till later, (about 8-9pm EST) but I'll email all and see if we can meet up when I'm on!

Later guys!
OMG, Jill...I'm looking at like $250 here. $68???

Okay so I am SERIOUSLY contemplating buying this game. My one question is can you use a regular computer keyboard instead of the wii speak mic?

I don't have Wii Speak, but I've seen things on Youtube that use ordinary keyboards that have USB plugs that plug straight into the wii. Maybe that would work?

My USB keyboard works great. It's much better than typing on screen.

Only thing you'll have to be careful of, you can only type one short line at a time (meaning maybe 15 spaces). If you type quick the person you're typing to can miss a line because only the last line is there. I did that with my daughter and she kept saying "what" because she'd miss part of the line. So if you do use a keyboard, be sure and pause between lines to give the person you're typing to time to read what you type!

Wow, as I read this, it sounds confusing!!! If you use a keyboard you'll see what I mean. Either way, a keyboard is way better!

Good luck getting the game! You'll love it

Since I work full time and go to school in the evenings I've had to travel by a few hours here and there also. Especially now since Nook closes at 10pm and I don't get to play till after 10:30! I've heard that about the weeds too but I wonder if big time travel would maybe cause a "paradox". Sort of like Back to the Future, where I go back so far that I could change the future and then when I come back to now, will it causes this terrible confusion with Nooks and my town in general... I think I'll just stick with my little time changes for now. Maybe I'll do some more checking on the internet and see if anyone else has done big time travel.

Everything takes 3 days to grow. From the time you bury something to your first harvest; and from harvest to harvest all take 3 days. Something I do, since I don't have much time to play, when I do have a little bit of time, I go shake all my trees and that way the next 3 day cycle starts. Then when I have more time I go and harvest what's on the trees and what's on the ground.

I think it's too late for the January Fortune, but I don't know what it is. Can you tell me what I missed???

I use a USB keyboard and it does work very well! I am thinking about getting the WiiSpeak though with two giftcards I got for Christmas to Kmart and then I can talk a lot like I normally do!

I understand you and know exactly what you are talking about. You sort of have to type like you are texting someone to make things fit in the space they give you and then still pause after you send that line so then they have time to read it before you send the next line for them to read, since it does only give you one line at a time!

Januarys fortune was that if a visitor chopped down a tree in your town they would have good luck. So, if I went to your town and chopped down a tree, I would have good luck, and if you came to mine and chopped a tree down, you would have good luck. Maybe someone will time travel with me one day and do it? Dunno... Or just need to go to the city to see what February's fortune is. Good news for you is (maybe) after Nook upgrades his store, he is open till 1am! That has helped me lots. So, if Nook's still looks like a Shack, after renovations it'll look like a Quicky Mart and be open longer.

Thanks for helping me on the 3 day thing... I want to start selling some fruit and planting more, so that will help a lot to know!

I have not heard of anything major happening with going back or forward in time as far as changing things, but I haven't looked a lot either. I was searching to find out if burying a shell did anything... It didn't!

I will be on today if anyone wants to visit or be visited!

You change the date, on the screen where Rover asks if you came to play, you say Other things, and there you can change the date and time to any date you want. When you do this there are some repurcussions, that may or may not be a big deal to you, but I have heard about the weeds, also some of the animals will move, and if you really like one of them you may not want to take a chance. With that said if you just go a day or so ahead or backwards, it's not that big of a deal, if you go months ahead then you take a chance. Also if you change your date a lot the Turnip lady will not have Red turnips on Sunday morning!

I know the girls (and I) would love to say hi! Smudgey in particular loves visitors.

So I went out and picked up the Wii version finally and started playing last night. I've got a few questions!

First, I remember reading about making golden tools for better luck at whatever that tool is used for. How do you create the golden tools and can all tool be made golden? (shovel, axe, watering can, fishing pole, etc.)

And second, I was running around shaking trees when I saw a present floating overhead on a balloon. I got out my bug net and kept swinging at it and chased it all the way to the other side of the map but wasn't able to catch it. Is there some trick to it, or do you just have to get lucky when swinging your net at it?

So far I think I like this better than the original even though it is very similar. The controls are going to take a lot of getting used to. I haven't used the Wii before

The present in the air is carried by a balloon so you need a slingshot to shoot down the balloon and grab the present. You can buy the slingshot at Nooks.

So far all I know is that you get the golden shovel by burying one (buy 2!) and leaving it in the ground for more than 24 hours.

The golden fishing rod is obtained by catching every single fish in the game, which could take a year and donating it to the museum.

As for the others, I don't know yet.
