About 2 months ago I decided that I wanted to try to take the Putnam exam. Its a math exam that college students can take, just as fun, to see how they do. The median score is a 0 and well over half of the people that take it get between a 0 and a 2 so its REALLY hard. I wanted to take it to use it as a self confidence booster and am hoping for a 1.
Well its this Saturday from 9 until 4ish(not really sure when I'm done) and I'm really worried about taking it. Its nothing that someone can study for because you never know whats going to be on it, until you take it. I work 36 hours next week and have several exams and papers due next week as well and the week after that is going to be finals week so I would really like to have some time to relax, so I am really wondering if I want to take the exam. The thing is I'm only 1 of 2 people taking the exam from Platteville, so I am representing the school, and if I don't show up that will kind of look bad. I mean the school doesn't get anything if I do well or poorly its purely for fun(though scholorship money is given if you do really well but thats out of the question for me).
So I'm trying to decide what I want to do...any advice.
For those of you who are brave enough to check it out here is a link: http://math.scu.edu/putnam/
