We just got back from the vet's office, and I just have to say I -love- this vet. She was compassionate to his condition and our monetary situation, she listened to his history from me and reviewed his records from his previous vet. Her attitude wasn't uppity like so many vets I've been to are, and I'll definitely be making her his vet for life.
She took x-rays of his chest because of his congestion and she said his lungs weren't as full as she thought they would be, and... *drumroll* his heart is a fairly normal size!! She wants to do ultrasounds and more x-rays for his heart because he may have a different heart murmur than hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
We'll be keeping him on the medication he's on now, but she wants to test his blood because the meds can damage his kidneys so that's something we'll be keeping an eye on.

We got some antibiotics to treat his congestion and if they work like they have in the past we'll be seeing improvement very soon.

Thank you all for your support and your good thoughts for this visit, it went far better than I could have imagined.

I hope he feels better.
My Meeko has a heart murmur.
She has had it since she was 3 months old and is 8.5 now.
I hope his kidneys are ok.
I have a cat with crf right now and I have lost cats to kidney problems.

I'm glad to hear that Tempyst's test results weren't as bad as feared, and I hope she does well on her treatments.

Having a wonderful vet makes all the difference in the world, doesn't it?
