I just found this:

"Tim Tam Slam": The practice of drinking a hot beverage (like tea) by sucking it through a Tim Tam, with both of the ends bitten off.

Really?

And at $2.50/pack that's slightly better than I can get them at World Market ($2.99). World Market has them but they aren't called "Tim Tams" - they are called "Arnott's" which is dumb because that's just the company that makes Tim Tams.
Dunno why they can't call them Tim Tams here. Are the Pepperidge Farms ones called Tim Tams?

I've heard that the Tim Tam Slam is really good with hot chocolate, and you have to master the art of knowing just when to pop the morsels in your mouth so they dissolve in chocolately goodness.

BTW, found out more info:

Pepperidge Farm Tim Tam cookies are available from November 2008 through March 2009 at Target stores nationwide, with a suggested retail price of $3.39.

Arnotts is the company/brand that makes Tim Tams.

I am not too fussed over them - however if I get a SS in the US, I send them Tim Tams.
Maybe...my ss this year has a pack.

Yep, in Cost Plus, they're sold as "Arnott's Chocolate Biscuit" or something like that! Very odd.

Oh and you guys have to start calling them biscuits not cookies!
Go the whole hog, and just call them what we call them - a biscuit. What you call a biscuit we don't really have...

A Tim Tam Slam with hot chocolate may just be chocolate overload (yes it does happen
), but with tea or coffee is perfect

On the west side of... of... somewhere.
Well, I stopped and nearly cleared out what they had... I bought five packs (I know, bad me, but they were on sale) of the chocolate ones and one pack of the caramel ones, which I've never tried... so we'll see. I left two packs of chocolate ones behind. It's funny, people around here must have known about it... they had a raincheck pad up for the chocolate ones... very popular...

As for the Tim Tim Slam... I learned the hard way (well, mushy way) that you don't keep drinking the liquid through it for long... or you get a VERY mushy biscuit. One site i read about the Slam is that as soon as you get the drink in your mouth, pull the Tim Tim and eat it... it's still mushy, but not NEARLY as bad as if you kept drinking...

I misread the package two cookies/biscuits are 190 calories!! That makes me feel a whole lot better.

I tried the carmel ones but I though the chocolate cremes are better!!

You people have started something! I did an Internet search last night, and found a German site that offers Tim Tams, so I've ordered six packages of the double chocolate ones.

But they are a lot more heavy than scones. And what Americans call scones aren't quite like our scones...
