I would if they had tested me for diabetes but it was an error on my chart about my "history". I also don't consume much sugar anyway. The test they did yesterday was to check my thyroid and run an alpha-fetoprotein test. They're supposed to call me with those results when they come in.

I wouldn't be too concerned about what the tech said..probably just a clerical error. But best to ask of course.

I'm not sure how they do it in the US but here in Canada they put you through a glucose test at around 26 weeks of pregnancy (you drink an orange soda type thing then wait for an hour to have your blood taken)

Ya, I'll be doing a 2 hour test I think around 24-26 weeks and as long as it comes back normal I'm fine. It's funny, when I was younger I was supposed to take the same test because they though I might be hypoglycemic but we never scheduled it. Oops.

Well, DH flipped out like I knew he would. Started talking about threatening a lawsuit. He plays the lawyer card way too often. (My dad's an attorney) I got him to calm down and think reasonably... there's no reason to go off on the Dr. when it was a nurse error.

Why do they have you doing the 2 hour test? I would look into the reason. unless it is b/c when you were younger they thought you were hypoglycemic. Over here they only do that if you are high risk.

I'm only 16 weeks and I'm also only guessing! I don't know exactly what test they are doing as it hasn't even been scheduled yet and the last time I heard about it was my first appointment when they outlined what I should expect during my pregnancy.

Good thing I don't panic easily...

Well, the they called this morning. My thyroid is normal and my AFP came back normal too. Good news! I was half expecting some issue with the AFP because it's a numbers game. It's detects possible neural tube defects and such. The Dr. said that after a certain age abnormal become a bigger range and being almost 30 I was prepared to need further testing. I was happy to hear it was with in the normal range for my age.

Next up... ultrasound!

Thought you were 26 or 27? Tell that Dr. to give you back the years!
"being almost 30"...PFFFT!

(Btw, I'm 26...lol)

Glad to know everything is OK.

I think I'm younger than I am. Sometimes I actually have to do the math because I choose not to remember my age!

I'm sure that's what you're feeling!
I felt both mine super early too. Actually, with my daughter I was feeling her move before I figured out I was pregnant! (Long story, LOL!)

He's definately moving now! So much that this weekend I actually saw it! Unfortunately DH hasn't gotten to feel him yet... bad timing and all but he's in there and I think he might be a ninja!

On a side note... it's official. I no longer have total control over my bladder. I sneezed this weekend and just froze. Matt asked me what was wrong and I thought that couldn't have possibly been what I thought it was. Sure enough, I had lost a little too much control and had to go change. Hope I don't seeze at work, I don't have a change of pants.

And here I thought I was rid of liners and such for 9 months!

I came close a few weeks ago. Matt had me laughing so hard I came close... the reason the sneeze got me is that I needed to go anyway. Time to set a little reminder for myself... kegals!

It's the best time to remind you of Kegals. Haha
I have had a few accidents when I didn't have to go. This boy just makes me laugh all the time. Wait till you get kicked and you almost jump out of bed.

Last week I had 3 nights that he woke me at 3am and I was starving. I had to make breakfast then crawl into bed a few hours later for more rest.

Well, DH still hasn't felt him move but he did see a big kick last night. We had just finished eating and I had a pillow behind me to my belly was really sticking out and the baby was going kung-fu crazy!
I told Matt if he watched one spot long enough he'd see it and sure enough, he did! If course, as soon as he tried to feel it the booger stopped but it's a start.
