Hello,
My friend has two cats. One is an older female and a young 8 month male kitten. The problem is that the older cat is a slow eater and the youngster eats his food then eats the older cat's food. Other than separating the cats during feeding are there any other suggestions?
Thanks

I have the same problem and I've had to keep them seperate during feeding time for approx 30-60 minutes so Miles can eat all of his food. I shut Zoe in the upstairs bedroom with her food and feed Miles downstairs twice a day. Shes a little fat girl and will eat everything in sight if I let her. Maybe she will outgrow it, but if not, its not a huge deal, I just have to make sure to allow for time to let them both finish.

In my case, I taught the young ones to keep out of the older ones food until the latter was done. I would gently push them away and say NO. It's my impression that kittens are not very patient about waiting for their turn, so it was very easy for me. They would go off and play if they didn't get what they immediately wanted.
